need some advice - I managed to back Norman when he was £125/1 (only a £2 bet but hey!) I know on betfair you can bet against an outcome so I was thinking of betting against him to get a return either way.

Just lay Norman at whatever people are offering. Currently 4.2. You will need to select how much you would like to win just making sure that you're liability is under £125.

If you put your liability that close to £125 then, if Norman wins, you will make a very small profit. The backer's stake is how much you stand to win if Norman doesn't. I would put it at about 25-30 if you want to guarantee a nice little profit either way.
