Stephen Carr, Celestine Babayaro, Damien Duff, skipper Scott Parker and strikers Obafemi Martins and Shola Ameobi were not among the 23-man party which left for Sicily on Wednesday.

Keeper Shay Given has made the trip to Palermo, but will not feature as he continues his recovery from abdominal surgery.

With Giuseppe Rossi ineligible, Roeder seems set to hand a chance to Albert Luque to kick-start his Newcastle career.

I'm quite pleased so far. They do have a lot of injuries and I'm not confident they will hold on but we'll see.

They seem very solid so far much to my annoyance lol. How much u got on them?

Just had £1 on brugge to beat spurs at 6/1. 1-1 at the moment.

Tomorrow's premiership.

I'd be laying Fulham at home against Everton. Fancy an Everton win quite strongly but draw is also quite likely. I might pile against Fulham to win in any case.

Small bet, for me, Charlton will turn Man City over at the valley.

I'd never back against Fulham at the Cottage.

Just put £2 on Southampton to draw 3-3 with Hull on Betfair. Thought 140-1 was a crazy price.

Want a few other things on tomorrow but no strong fancies. Might have an accie just for a change.

Also opted for Newcastle 3 Sheff Utd 1 as a real outside bet and more than 2 goals in the Liverpool-Reading game. Oh and Bolton 0 Wigan 0.

I've had 5er on Villa, 5er on Lincoln, £2.50 on MK Dons.

7 score predictions with £1 single bet.

Oh yeah and McCarthy and McAuley first goalscorer bets. 40/1 and 28/1

Finally £2.50 over 2.5 goals in Liverpool reading game.
