Carlito's Way- a non-Chav version of Scarface

Scarface got appropriated by hip-hop culture which kind of took some of the sheen off of it for me. It gets worse though its being remade. As the 1983 version was a remake itself I wonder if the 2012/3(?) version will be regarded as a classic in 20 years. No doubt Tony Scott will get his mitts on it and it'll be an shaky, bleached out, incoherent mess.

Both watched last night. Both decent enough.

Behave duck, Arena is awful. I was embarrassed to admit that'd seen it. It's one of the worst films I've ever seen. Terrible acting throughout and a ridiculous story. What's more I thought the use of gore was disgusting. It is everything that is wrong with film making and more importantly society.

The producers of this mess must think the key to a good film is having countless people being murdered graphically for their target audiences pleasure.

It got a 1/10 from me on imdb, and that was for lass that was in it.

I dare anyone to watch it and tell me its a good film.

I saw this last night. It was very low budget, but there is something that always makes me laugh about watching Danny Dyer and Tamar Hassan in films. Its a bit daft but worth a look for Dyers completely hammy performance " Gentleman, I'm a fackin geezer and i'm gonna blow your fackin heads off!!!"

I gave it 4/10 watchable but silly. the sort of film you don't have to pay full attention to.

I've recently had lots of time on my hands - due to being bed bound for a month or so. I've not managed to visit a cinema but I've managed to Sky+ a few films.

The Other Guys - Fairly decent

From Paris With Love - Enjoyed it, though I'm a huge fan of Travolta

Phenomenon - Great film, surprised I'd not heard of it to be honest.

Enemy Of The State - Again, a decent film

Angels & Demons - Ok, but a massive let down compared to the book

Killers - Actually made me chuckle, worth a watch

Grown Ups - Big fan of Adam Sandler, if you are too then it's worth a watch

Funny People - See 'Grown Ups'

District 9 - Not watched it yet, any good?

The Usual Suspects - Again, never seen it but have noticed it's had rave reviews...I'll get round to it.

Bullitt - Classic, but shamefully, I have to confess I've not yet seen it...

Ronin - I'd previously caught this film half way through, now seen it all - very good, love the early De Niro.

Super Troopers - Might have something to do with me working with the Police, but I found this hilarious.

If anyone can indulge me with a few more flicks that I can get fairly cheaply this please do so...I've got lots of time, but can't get out the house, so Amazon it is, Thanks.

That's not early De Niro. Early De Niro is Taxi Driver, Once Upon A Time In America, The Godfather Part ll, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, Awakenings, Goodfellas, Casino and my all time favourite Heat. I guess i class the older De Niro and his better roles up to about 1995, everything after '95 has been average in my opinion. Although Ronin is very good. :D
