But it wasn't saturated with sex and violence and therefore not an accurate potrayal of life.

The man is hit with about 20 explosive missile... at close range! Even GoT doesn't get THAT violent!

I watched Cold Comfort Farm last night, 1995. The book was written in 1932 as a parody on the DH Lawrence, Thomas Hardy depictions of rural life. Good one to watch with Mrs. 'Username' if you are doomed to a chicflick night.

The Grey was pretty good. It's about a bunch of oil workers whose plane crashes in a snowy alaskan wilderness filled with angry wolves. Straddled the border between credible and tacky perhaps a few too many times and there were several things that didn't make a lot of sense, but overall it was a fairly strong movie. 7.2/10.

Take Shelter was ok. It's about a family man who seems to be descending into a mental illness which manifests itself in bad dreams and a fear of a big storm. I enjoyed the freaky weirdness like I always do with those kind of movies but it lacked something, maybe a point, because it the end it never really went anywhere. 6.7/10.

Absolute quality. I really love P.T. Anderson for the subject matters he tackles in his movies. And he clearly allows himself the time needed to tell the respective stories.

I don't mind watching one of his films lasting for more than two hours - they're brilliant. Magnolia was not just personal (a movie about his relationship with his father), but also highly critical of religion and mass cults.

I adore There Will Be Blood.

In other news, Baz Luhrmann's version of The Great Gatsby is supposed to come out later this year. Here's the first trailer:

Not that it matters to anyone, but I appreciate Luhrmann's talent, but other than R&J, I don't like any of his films, and don't think I could force myself to watch any of his musical, colour forays to film. The stories don't grip me, and the amount of green/blue screen he uses distract me, as the world he creates scream (no pun intended) imaginary world, rather than something I can get involved in.

In a nutshell I guess I can't watch a 2hr perfume advert - 3D or not.
