Let's have a films thread.

Platoon isn't depressing. It's a bit sad but that ending has been rinsed so much that its sort of lost its effect now.

As for Saving Private Ryan it's like Casino for you, always on telly but I never catch it from the start. I own it though so will get round to it soon.

I'm trying to go through he imdb top 250. Top 30ish I've seen bar two or three.

Watching Spring Breakers with Selena Gomez and, so far, no shortage of tits. I'm anticipating it being wank, but on how many levels? Time will tell. So far it's mostly music and drinking. I'll keep you posted as things progress.

You had me with "no shortage of tits".

12 minutes in and amongst the borderline soft-porn images of girls frolicking around in various states of undress against a backdrop of moody electronic music, a plot has begin to emerge. Four girls don't have enough money to go on Spring Break, and that simply won't do. They must make some money, but how? TBC.

Watched Skyfall yesterday for the second time since going to see it back in the cinema, it without doubt is one of the best bond films ever. The story is great, the directing is top notch, the acting is superb and the song by Adele is amazing. Again if your not a bond fan, or never seen any of the films then suggest you check this out.

It was 10x better than Quantum, which is simply was really dry and dull and to be frankly honest boring.

Success! The girls enter a cafe late at night with a mallet and some waterpistols and frighten people into handing over their cash. They've done it! And now back to a bedroom to continue with the semi-nude frolicking, this time surrounded by money. "Seeing all this money makes my pussy wet." Indeed. Top film so far. Next, onto spring break. TBC.

I'll never understand why it's so popular, myself. I think the story is actually a bit stupid (I know all of the plots are 'stupid' but I wasn't sure why I was supposed to care if the villain succeeded) and some of the acting rather cringey (though not from Craig, who's done his best with a couple of dud Bond films, bless him).

Spring break was, by all accounts, pretty wild. Lot's of booze and drugs and sex implied on screen by a none stop stream of bouncing tits and ass. But there was also plenty of time for introspection, with the girls, particularly Gomez, "finding themselves" and talking about how they'd like to stay on spring break forever. Very deep. But then the cops broke up a party and arrested the girls for drugs along with some very sinister looking gold-toothed males. The girls soon appeared in court, naturally still on their bikinis, but couldnt afford bail. However, an associate of the sinister chaps is going to bail them out, presumably leading the girls head first into the criminal underworld. Poor Gomez, what will she do?

I assume you're all scrambling to watch this movie for yourselves by now, so I won't spoil it by continuing with updates. I will however come back and give it an overall rating. Hard to envisage anything other than a 10 at this point. Superb stuff.

It's probably the most down to earth bond film ever, I mean can you believe this is part of same franchise that brought you die another day & Moonraker?

No I can't. That's one of my main gripes with it.

It's either a Bond film or it's not. I don't enjoy a Bond film that's trying not to be a Bond film. It was trying to appeal more to Harry Potter fans than Bond fans, just look at the kind of jokes (and delivery of said jokes) throughout the film. It's not the Bond humour I've come to know and love. It's too childish.

Were you in suspense worrying that M would die? Personally I more wanted her to die than to live, she's just not a likeable character.

I actually agree with you in some ways, since the Harry Potter films came out all the films have looked to copy it's dark style, they even cast voldermort as the new M!, by the away i asn't bothered by the death of M anyway but the ending was intense. In some ways it was nice to have a different style of bond, otherwise we'll be going down the same road of the later Prosnan films where they didn't care about the plots and stories. They just wanted to keep every film the same theme, a british spy, that dodged explosions, killed evil leaders that wanted to takeover the world & can also stop his heart for a few minutes.

My only concern with this new style, it came across to me similar to the recent batman films.
