lol Love how Leicesterpool was the post straight after this and just ignored it.

lol Him and Whymsy always do that, I swear they're the same person. I don't think they actually pay attention to half what written on here. I've directly quoted them before trying continue discussion they'd started and they just ignore it and post something completely irrelevant straight after. lol

Jurassic World - 6/10.

Some cool bits but doesn't have the tension levels that the other ones did but, thinking about it, that's probably because I was a kid when watching the old ones.

Jurassic World is so inferior to Jurassic Park it is unbelievable. No suspense whatsoever. 5/10

Can't wait to watch Terminator Genesis though, hopefully that is as good as the first two but I doubt that's possible.

Went to see Jurassic World last night, would also call it a 6/10 - enjoyed it more than I thought I would but the pacing was off. Too much action early on so I felt it dragged a little. Much more death than I anticipated for a kids film though, which was interesting

Didn't like the forced sentimental scene and complete change of character of the ginger woman following, but she was hot hot hot so it was nice to see her declothe somewhat and get wet and greasy

Also watched JW today.  Went in not expecting much.at all after the other sequels, but this won me over so, so much.

Now, the biggest criticism I have is that the ending was way too JP3 for my liking. Fortunately what came before was almost as if they knew they had to make amends for it ahead of time, for instance this film blows the others out of the water for pure dino-porn: Even if there are no feathers and they keep reminding us every 5 minutes that the main bad guy isn't a dinosaur, they still manage to cram a million different creatures in, even Ankylosaurs! ANKYLOSAURS ARE THE SHIT.  I thought it couldn't get any better at this point, and then they go and make the cringeworthy shots of Chris Pratt riding a motorbike with his raptor buddies actually seem like a plausible behaviour pattern. Blew my mind. On top of that they crammed in sly, and some not so sly, nods to the original movie in almost every scene it felt like. I was sitting in a pool of my own jizz by the end, but then again with Bryce Dallas Howard getting all sultry up in my 3D grills that was an inevitable outcome.

The storyline wasn't stellar, but they did a good job of echoing the original film's central warning against man playing God, as well as chucking in a few other social statements, although you can't help but feel that it's being a bit hypocritical by portraying the arms race to entertain people with bigger claws and more teeth in a negative light, while blatantly appealing to that exact same need for a good old toothy adrenaline rush.

If I saw this at the same age I first watched JP I'd probably have enjoyed this more, but there's no denying it doesn't hold a candle to JP for cinematic purity - it will always be one of my few 10/10 films.

All in all I'd say it's objectively a solid 7/10 movie, but I give it a full marks for giddy Jurassic enjoyment.  A really good film and I will definitely watch it again, though it's never going to get anywhere near JP's view tally, no film will.

10/100 - Transformers: Age Of Extinction - 6/10 - EDIT 4/10 for stupidity.

Big dumb and shiny. They clearly had enough of an idea for half of 2 films and just smooshed them together. Avengers did well when they wantonly destructed a well known city - lets do that but bigger! Stupid film best watched with brain switched to off. Way too long but still better than the last Shit The Beef flick.

EDIT : I've posted this expecting the flick to be finished in the next 10 mins since I can already see how this ends. Somehow there is still an hour left!

Every time I keep thinking - 'This film can't possibly get any more ridiculous' Michael Bay continues to prove me wrong.

They killed off the best part of the flick 10 mins in and then throw in ****ing Dinobots - which I remember being stupid in the TV show as a cartoon even at age 7.

Fair play to Mark Wahlberg for playing that part straight for the whole 7 hours.

It's like he was actively out to prove that yes, I can do worse than Transformers 3 actually thank you.

Or at least go licence plate and hit Tr4nsformers

Right, basically it's one big shambolic failure.  I love dinosaurs (see above), which is the only reason I watched it in fact, but what Michael Bay did with them was not big and it was not clever.
