Really good showing, nice to see the openers come out with intent against a fairly modest target. May sound simplistic, but last season I think we’d have seen the openers come out with a different mindset considering the target.

 

all in all a very enjoyable evening and to be honest thought there were more in to watch than expected. One game but feel we’ve got the squad for a decent T20/white ball campaign…

About as good as it gets in T20 as a team performance. Of course the ECB will probably dock us 2pts and award the game to Yorkshire for us taking the p1ss.

He has played in previous T20 campaigns but his record in T20 is much worse than it is in the other formats. The main issue is that he lacks the power hitting that is so crucial in T20. Of course, you can have 1 top order batsman who is steady and keeps the scoreboard ticking through 1s and 2s, but you can't really have 2 - and they have chosen Hanscomb in that role this time.

He's definitely on the radar. Trouble is, there is quite a depth of white ball left-arm seamers - may struggle to get in ahead of Topley, Wood and Curran.
