It's a sad state of affairs really, the club is skint and been in free fall for years, members are at all time low and what does not help is that any emerging talent is soon swallowed up by the top clubs.

What does not help is that has beens like Hoggard is taking up a large amount of the budget,Christ knows who decided to give him a lucrative contract when the money should have been spent on up and coming players.

hoggard is not the problem whitticase is and this is getting boring but he needs to go. if you remember when he signed we had a good coach in boon and that all went up in smoke when the old chairman decided to stick his nose in and everything went to the pisser boon went and we have not recoverd

Not saying Hoggard is the problem it just does not help, the club needs a clean sweep from top to bottom...the club blew a fantastic opportunity in raising its profile when they decided not to pursue in Chris Gayle, nothing against Burns or Hasan but it they hardly smacks you in the face with ambition.

We should look at Derbyshire, similar club but least they are having ago.

If the club carrys on as it is then god only knows what the future holds.

We won two games since and would absolutely batter your lot :P  We're just an up and down team to the extreme.

EDIT: That's if you're talking about 20/20, didn't realise we were playing your lot! Nearly fainted in surprise when I saw you'd made over 200, let alone just 4 down! Uphill from here for us.

521 all out following your 365. Must be a good pitch or something...

Mickleburgh with 243, that's insane, he's not been in great nick this year. Foakes with a very useful century, he's only got one 50 this year!

Eckersley's gone for you, 47-3, we seem to be in the driving seat, but only one day to get 7 wickets, and you only trail by 109. Should be interesting!

Meanwhile, as the first team struggles, the second team has already lost by 10 wickets. As all this unfolds, the senior pro, Hoggard, is down at Lords presumably sorting out his next career. If he is still on our payroll would it not be prudent for him to be with the first team trying to impart some advice.

With Henderson retiring, and I presume Hoggard leaving at the end of this season, that must free up some budget. I feel we need to recruit an experienced Englishman to lead the side and add some steel to the middle order. We have plenty of talented players, but the batters in particular seem too often to settle for an elegant 40 rather than grinding out a big 100. That's nothing to do with technique, but everything to do with application and mindset.

The Club needs strong and sensible leadership both on and off the pitch. Quickly.

Currently 85-6 that's shocking, very poor and not good enough again.

It's sad to see them in this state, Phil Whitticase needs to leave, and behind the scenes their needs to be changes new ownership perhaps.

Drew tonight.

Went down again and they need 12 to draw off the last over so it's a bit of a disappointing result and it also means that we, realistically, can't qualify out the group now. Greg Smith batted well alongside Al Hasan (as usual), who minus the last over also bowled very well, but the man of the match was definitely Rob Taylor! Gave us a total to defend which we were so close to doing by hitting a very quick 29 off 15 and then got 4 for 23 off his overs. Real shame we couldn't stop a boundary off the last ball but a decent performance.
