The plus points? Our two best batsmen are still here in Robson and O'Brien. Shreck's ok but needs assistance helping younger bowlers. The 2's, bizarrely are going for a clean sweep. We remain a very good production line. We've also actually performed better than last year due to the batting point in the 1's.

Someone said it's because we have two second XI's. Ha.

Incidentally, 4:41 on here, is this the worst LBW decision ever?

Whitticase must have dirt on literally everyone else in the club to still be in that job.

He's probably a nice bloke, but no wins in 32 matches over two seasons and no progress at all made in any format means the coach is failing spectacularly at his job.

Look at the defeats: 408 runs, innings and 79, innings and 34, 204 runs, 10 wickets, 234 runs, 9 wickets twice, 278 runs, it's not even competitive.

That's why I am concerned about the clubs claims regarding the review of the 2014 season, it needs an independant review not a review by people who have created this current shambles, heads in sand springs to mind. All the blame will be layed on Sarwan.

What was the result of the cricinfo debate?

Apparently when Whitticase was a player he got hit in the face during a game at Grace Road which did a fair bit of damage. The club had cocked up and didn't have the right insurance to sort him out, so one of the stipulations of him agreeing not to sue was that he would be given a job for life when he retired.

Mate who's in with people close to the club told me that, could all be bollocks mind.

Not sure about that! For a start he wasn't hit in the face during a game at Grace Rd it was in fact at Chelmsford where he had his teeth knocked out.

15 minutes of thoughts...

  • Andrew Boyce comes in as temporary Chief Exec.
  • Marketing background
  • Set King Power guys as main target
  • Follow up with list of 50 of biggest companies in Leicester with aim of selling club
  • E.g. Walkers snack foods & Topps Tiles– binned off as main sponsor of LCFC but still local company
  • Next – sponsor of Tigers – forge links with Tigers and increase revenue
  • UAG, Barratt, Aggregate industries, Caterpillar – these 4 turn over $7 billion
  • Kaby Engineering – took me 30 seconds to find them on google.  £10m company with Indian background.
  • Run through members list and see who works for whom, what contacts they have in other business
  • Knock on the door captain, senior players, Nixon etc. and go in and sell the club to them.
  • If the playing budget structures are 3 tiered and the tiers are as close as 800k-1m , 1m – 1.2m, 1.2m-1.4m then a snip of investment could easily put you in the middle bracket.
  • Don’t be satisfied with mediocrity

It’s easy on paper and I have no doubt that it would be tough, but the big sell is possible.

Imagine what someone like Boycey Snr. could do with his background.

And the next time the local residents complain about development you tell them  - it’ll be a lot worse if we sell the ground and a housing estate is put up.  Imagine how bad the traffic would be ALL YEAR ROUND if this happened.

Give him a job as lavatory attendant then!

Whitticase had been first team coach before and failed, then after Tim Boon left, somehow (probably because he was a cheap option), managed to get the gig again, and with the help of a "head in the sand" board, has managed to turn us into a minor county, in all but name.

People may say that Ben Smith is the head coach this season, but lets not kid ourselves, all that happened, was after the disaster of last season, and the unhappiness of members, the board knew they had to be seen to be doing something, but instead of making a fresh start, (getting rid of Whitticase would have been a positive start), they just gave Whitticase and Smith different job titles, but basically nothing was really changed, and so the embarrassment goes on.

People like Charlie Dagnall from Radio Leicester, will have us believe that we are little old Leicester and can`t compete anymore, but when Tim Boon was head coach, we were heading in the right direction, with a young squad with much promise, and in his final year before leaving, (after yet more boardroom fall outs), we only just missed out on being promoted to the first division, proving that we are not a lost cause, and that with the right coach in place, and with a board that will actually have some kind of vision, we can at least begin to compete again.

At the moment the club is a shambles, and an embarrassment from the top to the bottom, and they`re has to be some big changes down there, if we are not to fade into minor county obscurity.

Just to add a bit of substance to what i was saying, in 2010, which was Tim Boons last season with us, we finished 4th, with 7 wins, and 199 points, just 9 points behind Worcester who were promoted in second place.

The following season, under Whitticase, we finished rock bottom, with 1 win, and just 88 points, the facts are there for all to see!
