I admire Evans in that he soaks balls up but again its 9 runs in nearly 2 hours.

Bowling is brilliant let's be honest but even a decent club bat knows rotate the strike if the bowling is good. Just a matter of time blocking like that.

That would imply that we bowl Middlesex out, which won’t happen.

What if they bowl us out quickly after lunch then club our attack for a couple hundred before tea with Mike going for 10 an over, then declare and bowl us out in the evening?

It's a measure of how bad that session was that I'm writing the above and thinking they could have a go at it if they wanted.

They won't obviously, suspect their batting lineup will fill their boots and rack up 500.

Parkinson has an excellent technique. Right in behind the ball even to the quick. Surely should bat higher he normally ends up getting stranded.

Mind you could get stranded opening in this side.

Shows how poor the top order have been really.

Seconds lost by 250 runs to Northants seconds. No one in the entire Club appears able to bat for any length of time.

At times like this you have to wonder if it’s worth the ECB spending £3 million a year to keep us in business.

I've made a similar comment above. We are just so far off the required standard with no real sign of sustainable improvement. Very sad.

A few DIV 2 teams have been bowled out for lowish scores today.

Not picking up a good overseas opener was our problem I think but once Wright & Hill are back I'm confident we'll win one or two.

It's days like this when even I start to wonder if Agnew has a point. We are so out of our depth, it would appear.

The playing squad and the approach to assembling a decent squad is the issue. Recruitment seems massively mismanaged as does player selection.

Take Rhodes for example, when we've picked him up what was the purpose? What did we think he'd add to our squad, we just seem to accumulate players for no reason.
