Nixon is going to have to make some big calls.

Dropping Ackermann and Hendricks probably the most imminent ones that need to be sorted. Evans is averaging 25 at a strike rate of 30 as well so whilst he's seeing off the new ball he's scoring unbelievably slowly and it's an issue. Though to be fair it may still be better than what the alternatives may offer.

Azad

-

Patel

-

Hill

Mulder

Swindells

For me there is two gaps in the top 7 that we need more from and Swindells and Mulder are nearer Ackermann and Evans than Patel and Azad at the moment too, though hopefully Swindells will gain confidence from his 50 today.

Unfortunately given the structure of the season it's not exactly easy from this point to drop anyone and allow them any 2nd xi cricket to find form as we're soon into the white ball window.

Burgess at Warwickshire, Leicestershire reject doing very well, not sure if he was mentioned in the released players who have prospered elsewhere.

Also Billy Root Glamorgan  and Moores at Notts

Ollie Robinson also once of our parish.

Is there anywhere you can find club specific averages for the season?

I'd drop Ackerman & Hendricks, give Hill or Parkinson the captaincy and bring Barnes & Kimber back in.

Remote chance of a FC debut for our leggy this Thursday? Rehan Ahmed (along with Barnes) played in both Second XI T20 games yesterday but hasn't been included in today's game against Derbyshire.

Well the seamers aren't taking 20 wickets on that track so you may as well look at other options. Hopefully don't over-bowl him before the Blast starts.

So ,only 672 people out of 4000 were interested in free tickets and maybe 100 or them were Sussex fans saving a few quid. Not very encouraging  at all

It's going to take some time if this initiative is to succeed. Could the numbers be better? Yes. But we were rank for most of that game and crucially looked miles out of it going into the weekend, when most would be looking to take advantage of that offer. Hopefully it picks up over the summer holidays, it's been great seeing the club getting back into schools and inviting the kids along again like they used to 20 years ago.

No they were handed out to specific groups. You couldn’t just pick them up.

I reckon that’s probably about normal for freebies, if not above average when you factor in some may have considered leaving it to go down on the Sunday only for the weather to then be crap. Depends on what groups they were handed to really and how much interest the people in cricket had in the first place.

Oh really? I didn’t realise you could just email. Thought Jarvis had tweeted a few days before that they’d all been sent out in advance of the game.
