Evans is torturous to watch bat. Now I know you have the likes of Sibley who is a slow scorer in red ball who goes at a decent rate when facing the white one so fingers crossed Sam can do the same. Perhaps there are no other batters left available.

I think Hill had managed just 58 in 7 knocks if you take out the Glos. game so not going to quibble about him standing down over this hand injury. Just surprised that neither Walker or Bowley, both of whom can give it the long handle effectively, have been bypassed ahead of a player who's hasn't had first team cricket since May and little with the 2nds over the last month or so.

There might be something in wanting an opener to just cement and end given the collapses we've seen in the comp recently. 

 

Having an opener in ticking along steadily (like compton does for Kent) might not be the worst idea today

Reckon it could well be a close to 300 pitch. If we can keep them in the 240-290 region I reckon we’re well in this
