Yes, the Budinger signing is reported in the Cricketer. I heard that Azad turned down a contract offer. Perhaps he's off. Not sure we can afford too many red ball specialists truth be told. We're basically paying someone to play for half a season. On paper, Budinger looks like a decent signing. Yet to play a first class game, good white ball numbers thus far. Let's hope he goes well for us.

At least Darren Stevens didn't decide to just turn it on against the Foxes (yeah, thanks Joey Evison), he's just cracked an unbeaten 80 off 64 balls with 16 off the penultimate over to lead Kent to a 3 wicket win against Hampshire in their RLC semi-final.

What a way to go out, pleased for the lad.

Rather dispiriting to think we were without Mike, Ackermann and Parkinson for the entire One Day Cup for the sake of the latter two making one appearance apiece in the Hundred.

 

Such a crock of shit. The franchises should only be allowed squads of 12 or something with injury replacements called up as and when required. Parkinson is a really, really good level English white ball spinner and he's spent an entire sunny August sat on his arse instead of playing cricket.

Not played any white ball cricket this year for Durham. I don't see the point of this unless Wright is retiring and we want a more experienced head. Durham are letting him go because he can't make their first team, this is the level we are at.

True. He is statistically better than any of our support seamers 119 wkts at 33.

What I meant was that I'm not sure he's going to be much better given he's not played much this season but I could imagine us signing far worse players on paper.

We can't carry on with a squad with 5 or 6 never playing. 

 

Total madness that. I don't think Bowley Sekande Alex Evans Griffiths Bates have played 5 games between them.

I agree, instead we are signing more bang average bowlers, when we could utilise the loans system.
