I don't understand how Hill becomes a very reliable bat whilst everyone else goes backwards. Perhaps a testament to Hill rather than any batting coach efforts. Maybe Hilly should be player/batting coach.

Great with the short format but too many seasons in the doldrums now.

Even in the short format he has proven completely incapable of building a team that has professionalism and can behave itself. 

 

 

Multiple years now we have been on the receiving end of fines and points deductions because of the poor culture at the club.  

 

To miss out on the next stage of the T20 this year because of yet more ill behaviour from the same players is embarrassing and incompetent. 

 

 

You already know the outcome next season, it's almost pointless giving a shit.

At work so not watching but looks like we're in for another hammering here unless the weather comes to our rescue over coming days. This has to be our worst 4 day team ever. We are utter garbage.

Finan is quite quick. Give him that. Say medium but he is quicker than Barnes and Scriven. 

 

If he could settle on a line he may be OK?

Maybe coaching will help him, he looks a bit raw. I thought he was settling and then he bowls a massive wide and a no ball!

Decent effort with the ball there tbh. Same against Notts last week in the first innings. 

 

Batsmen have to give them some sort of chance.

Raine and Potts are a pretty tasty pairing if the ball is going to be doing anything.

Incidentally I see alongside Buck retiring that Thurston, Curran and Glover have been released by Northants.

 

I think we've been linked with a Northants batter so I'm sure either above would jump at the chance of another chance at a County. Would any other County be in for either though?

I know Potts is a cut above what they usually face but even then this is dreadful. Second Innings batting we fold near on every time.

Some woeful batting though. Got themselves out. 

 

Going into a game with 5 batsmen 2 of which are desperately out of form. 

 

I just don't know what Nixon expects from a side like this. Only three players averaging over 30. Its bloody awful.
