Well a pleasant final day of the season.

Ahmed shows he's a serious bat. Various others don't capitulate either.

Oh and Liam Norwell dispenses a small measure of the justice that the ECB doesn't have the minerals or will to do itself.

Great final day, gives a bit of hope for next season. If these young players can continue to develop and we get the overseas picks right, we might.....win a game!

Azad, Sam Bates, Bowley, Alex Evans, Griffiths and Sakande released.

Yep. Positive really.

Harsh on Bowley who only played twice and got 50 in.his second match.

I've no idea why we signed some of these guys only to never play.

I pressume we are keeping rest. I've have ditched a few more tbh

There are definitely still a few I wonder why we've kept though no doubt contracts lengths is more of the issue.

Rhodes - was he previously announced as leaving? I think he was actually...

Welsh - Can't get a sniff of a four day spot and really undid the promise of his early t20 and 50 over hundred form with a turgid run thereafter in the one day cup.

Steel - Generally does alright for us but seemingly never picked.

Davis - Rarely picked this season and poor when he was selected.

I wonder if the latter 3 who have been offered new contracts if they had a year less. Still a good chunk of deadwood gone you feel so that's a positive.

I make our squad for next season currently:

Evans/Welsh

Budinger/Steel

Kimber/Patel (Lilley white ball)

Ackermann

Hill

Swindells(wk)

Scriven

Walker/Barnes

Parkinson/Ahmed

Wright

Finan/Davis

I've put Ahmed alongside Parkinson as I think of him primarily as a spinner but it's clear he's capable with the bat so likely to bat 5 or 6 next season?

Overseas opener

Budinger/Evans/Welsh

Ackermann

Hill

Ahmed

Mulder (if we could tempt him back...)

Could be useful as a top 6 and keeps Patel and Kimber in reserve?

Rickelton or Roelofsen would be nice in the opener slot. Agressive and competent in all formats.

Scriven

Parkinson

Wright

Finan

As the attack?

Very interested in our recruitment and hope we go beyond just filling the overseas slots to strengthen what we have. One or two good domestic acquisitions and we could be in business (head coaching questions aside).

Think the only player you have missed out is Vikai Kelley who we signed from Warwickshire
