Would have kept Azad for sure. Pleased he has got another county gig as he always came across a top bloke. His words on us when he did leave were lovely.

Yeah, I'm still a bit miffed over this. Wasn't even any politics or fall out involved; the club just decided to let him go.

Genuinely perplexed as was often so key for us in the 4 day games; when we more than likely need to bat time to create opportunity of a draw..

Peter Handscomb signs. Happy with that.

Ditto. Let's hope he has a good season at Grace Road; could see him being the kind of guy who might stick with us for a bit and could be exactly what we need.

Not nearly as straight forward as you are suggesting

Azad in at Northants as cover for Gay. Same team as that grub McManus

Northants continue to do a great job in picking up players discarded by other counties and rehabilitating them. Simon Kerrigan is the latest good example, but they've also helped extend the career of Gareth Berg, who is now 42 and still going strong.

I hope Hasan does well as he's a thoroughly decent guy.

Everything is working out well for Rehan and it's great to see.

Even Parkinson refusing to sign a new contract and losing the captaincy probably smooths his way into the side as a fixture in all formats. In the red ball games he can play as the main spinner with Ackermann as back up and he strengthens the batting significantly if that ton last season is any indication.

Yeh gotta go with Rehan in all formats unless he's injured. Parkinson may well sign a pre-contract agreement, so may be off elsewhere after July

Was literally about to post that we need to offer an Aussie a chance, screw the ECB. Think he’ll do a good job for us especially if he has a point to prove which is usually the circumstances when overseas players do well.

ECB bigwigs only get wound up by the whole "playing Aussies into form" thing because it actually proves Div 2 is still a serious enough challenge for Test players to think it's worthwhile, and therefore a format worth keeping.
