How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

Taking shits while I was at my last workplace were great. Knowing you're getting paid to shit is one of the best things ever. The only awkward part is the window in the toilet always used to be fecking open and there would always be 2 people stood directly outside having a convo. Had to employ the coughing tactic while dropping logs.

Sometimes I wonder whether you're doing all this just on purpose. As if the Lamby we know was nothing else but a fabrication.

Cheers mate.

I know when things get tense and there's pressure. It's so blatant to see with 2 members of the team. I try and stay out of their way as much as possible and just keep myself to myself. From my point of view, it's better that way and saves and controversies.

What I hate is what I like to call 'whisper culture'. The 2 people in question always, always whispering to each other. Whether it's about me I don't care. It's when they act all nice to some people then I hear them whispering about them behind their backs, very shifty and two-faced. They must be 2 of the bitchiest people about and yet I don't think they fully realise it.

Many people suggest its harder managing a bigger team. I don't agree. Having managed large and small teams, the latter can be more difficult when there's bitching going on. In a bigger set-up it gets diluted more. I firmly feel this.

Can definitely see where you're coming from there. I sometimes sympathise with my boss cos he has to find a way of diluting it without alienating himself from the team, and those 2 in particular.

Prices is Oz were staggering.

Was paying equivalent of £11 for a bottle of Kopperburg in Sydney last year.

We get ripped on everything, not just booze.

English mate of mine just paid $7.50 for a packet of Ibuprofen. He reckons a similar strength packet is 65p in Asda

Maybe  British women get more "headaches" than your Sheilas down there  .

Seeing an ENT specialist today after having continuous problems with my throat/tonsils/glands. 4 times in the past 9-10 months I've been seriously ill whenever I've got a cold/flu. Really hope something gets sorted but my GP keeps saying getting tonsils out could be more detrimental than beneficial to me.

Anyone ever seen an ENT specialist before? First appointment with them - will it be a general check-up or would they do some kind of tests straight away?

You're likely to have a colonoscopy and speculum on your first appointment, but it gets easier from there on.

Depends where you go, but it's karma for drinking a girly drink really.

Does it make it more manly if I say I was only on it as it was midnight and I had been on it from 9am in the morning?

Wasn't as bad as Sydney airport, was about $17 I think and that was a normal pint.

The change in currency has been a killer for us, even Virgin announced this week they are stopping routes to Australia due to costs.

Good luck mate.. it'll be sore for a bit but continual tonsilitis is no fun..

Thanks man.

Nope! I've had 5-6 bouts of it since Jan 2013. Doctor said because it's been so many times he thinks it may be best to have a tonsillectomy if I'm happy with it, which I am. It's been so many times that I think that it's best for me for the future. The doctor also kept alluding to how fit and healthy I am so that's on my side as well post-operation lol.
