Good so far, late start at college of 11am, so need to leave in about 40 minutes. <_<

One of my lessons today will include a presentation in front of the head of sixth form, and my presentation skills are absolutely wank. You could say I'm glossophobic and even when I'm not nervous, the signs that show nerves when I speak still show.

For example, I start shaking (sometimes uncontrollably), my voice goes all fooked, I start losing where I am (if reading from notes) and it all sort of just goes downhill.

The strange thing is, reading or presenting is extremely easy when I'm sitting down. On my own, in front of loads of people...sitting down, it's easy. It's just something about standing up at the front speaking before lots of (or important) people that I find honestly terrifying.

Just remember that lots of people get nervous about this sort of thing, even those who do it day in day out. Worst bit is the first bit and once you're over that it gets easier so try to compose yourself before you start. Someone once advised me that if you feel intimidated by your audience just try to imagine them sitting there naked. Problem is ,if your audience is made up of a hall of very attractive women you might give yourself away. Anyway , good luck :thumbup:

Cheers ;) This particular presentation is just in front of the head of sixth form, head of business and my business PF class. So that's 9 in total, so pretty minor - but still speaking at the front. >_< Time to go anyway, will bear what you said about the naked thing in mind. :P

Don't mumble, keep looking up, and make sure you think about what you're going to say before hand. Best of luck chap.

Best thing to remember about public speaking is that your probably not the only one that is going to be speaking, so it doesn't matter.

Also, even if you make a COMPLLEEEEETE tit of yourself, people will only remember for like, hours so no hassle. Plus, once you've finished, it's all done, and as silly as it sounds, people will only really notice you if you do make a div of yourself. So confident, clear speaking, and you will slip under the mickey-taking radar.

Well it was an interesting day.

I turned down an offer for all but 10 of the 250 watches I had on my stall and that rates as unusual - both having such an offer, especially in this financial climate, and me turning it down! :D

I settled on selling 60 instead which probably means it'll be a long hard Christmas with hamburgers or pizza taking the place of the seasonal turkey and trimmings! :rolleyes:

After that it was down to The Walkers to see the under 18's and an eminently forgettable game but, thankfully, the right result.

How did you get on NSLL?

Alright yeah, as I said before it was pretty minor.

Said a few things though, kind of ended up reading the powerpoint i prepared in advance, so it was a bit of a shit presentation, but I got through it so it was alright.

Next on the course is an hour and a half going out to the public and giving financial advice, which is easy as it's one-on-one. Towards the end of the course though there's supposedly a presentation in front of the local village. :o

Pornstar/Gigalo????? After watching you girate (spelling??) your hips at the ladies, i think you would make a great one!!! Tommasi's a camera man, and i've got a digital camera, all we need now is a leading lady????? :P

That's a shame, you seemed really happy on saturday and was looking forward to moving closer to city...............................maybe it was the booze???????????

I am quite happy.. I've just realised that I had quite a few bits planned recently, which has all now been done and I've over committed myself with various work commitments.

Trying to talk to you in that club was a nightmare - you kept speaking to me but I couldn't hear a word you were saying.

I'm pretty sure that every woman in the club wanted to be our 'mysterious girl'.

Mate, I by the time i got into the club, I could sense my speech was beginning to slur, what was more embarrassing I tried chatting this girl up, the poor girl tried her hardest to understand what i was saying eventually I had to give, so I left her standing and ran off!!! So, matey even if you could hear me, you wouldn't understand me. Most of the night i just pointed at Tommassi and followed his lead!!!
