How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

Not that I remember. It was 99 paces there and considerably more on the return journey :).

Now if you'd have broken those pints up with a lovely coffee you may have kept it 99 both ways haha.

I have to say, I love to smash a Mocha and Croissant on Friday mornings. Upper Crust are the biz for mochas.

took my son to see a physio as he is almost 10 months old and still cant sit up on his own. The wife was worried he may have something wrong with his spine. Turns out hes just a lazy bastard hahaha lol

lol Shouldn't your kid be learning to walk at that age?

lol

This brings back memories. We took our daughter for a specialist assessment as she showed no sign of learning to walk, despite progressing well in every other way. For about a year at nursery all the other kids were walking and running, while she happily bottom-shuffled among them. Finally got up on her pins at 2yrs 7mths (1yr 3-6mths is average, I think)! Absolutely nothing wrong with her, she's just never seen the point in rushing....and I mean never; even her birth had to be induced 2 weeks beyond due date, and she's now almost always the last one out of school. "Quick"? It's clearly in her DNA not to understand the word!  :D

I was similar as a baby. My mum was worried because I crawled sideways. The doctor kept saying there was nothing wrong with me. Eventually he did notice something but it was too late for an op. I had a slightly misplaced hip. This accounts for me being crap at sports and not physically strong. But on the other hand It has never stopped me trying and doing other things. I was unaware as to how serious it was until a few years ago when my brother said that considering my start I had done well and he admires me for it.

I suppose if it happened nowadays the hospital could be sued for not picking up on it at birth. If I did have the op then I would not be the person I am..

I used to go there a lot on school trips (Welney not the pub). I think I'd be too spooked to live there.

We used to go to see the swans on school trips!

That's true if you were going South. My wife worked in Ely, so she had it tough and had to detour around 10 Mile Bank.

Rarely used the Lamb but found a friendlier place at the Old Ship at Lakes End. When I lived there there were 3 pubs in the village now just one and I see that the Ship is no longer a pub. The three Tuns was just 99 paces from my house but unless you had been brought up and bred in Welney, they weren't very friendly. In fact in the time we were there, we made no friends in the village and used Downham Market as our social center.

Like Downham Market,if you don't mind me asking where did your wife work in Ely?

Spent a lot of the day spring cleaning. got someone coming tomorrow doing the yearly surveying malarky. I had an offer from two female colleagues to help but could not contact them this morning. still its better than it was if not perfect.

This is what happens when blokes live on their own for years without the female touch for housework.
