How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

Was up at 5am yesterday to get to a works do in Manchester. Started drinking heavily at 8am. Was smashed by 2pm so went back to my hotel and slept for a full seven hours, woke up and then rejoined the party. Got a big smile from one of the receptionist girls who I had been chatting to earlier. She was pretty smashed but nothing compared to some of my colleagues who had been on it all day. It was an absolute freak show. Had a few more beers and went over to chat to the receptionist again. She's about 19, skinny, a bit tarty, looks like she takes lots of both drugs and cock. Didn't take much to convince her that she needed to see the view from my hotel room. I suggested we leave separately and she agreed. I was to meet her in the hotel lobby in about fifteen minutes. Half an hour later she hadn't turned up so I gave up and headed back to the party. Just down the road from the hotel and there she was on the floor being attended to be paramedics. The silly tart had only gone and twisted her ankle. The paramedics were looking at the ankle and she looked in pain, so being a gentleman I crouched down beside her and held her hand. At that point one of the senior managers of the business arrived at the scene. I figured she must have called him for some reason. I let go of her hand and took a step back thinking, it's pretty obvious to this guy what was going on here, but it shouldn't really matter. Nevertheless he gave me a sharp disapproving look, and then the girl looked up and said to him "hi dad" and I died a little bit inside. Turns out she's the 17-year-old daughter of one of the most senior managers in the country. She doesn't even work there, she was just doing work experience. Really fvcks me up.

Out in Coventry tonight for the works do.  That's right Coventry.  If it couldn't get any worse I have a managers dinner to go to at 4pm Sunday.

Well that was alrright ended up at a place called JJ's, mate from work got some tickets for smirnoffs big night out, suppose to be somekind of 'club experience', was pretty good although by then I could barely see.

Positive end to the night when I asked the cab to pull over on the way to bedworth and pucked up in sight of the Ricoh.

Yesterday was pretty good really. The football was obviously a fairly low point, but that aside a great day out. Travelled up with a load of west ham fans and we all had plenty of beer and a good time was had by all. Met a few people reasonably well connected in football circles and joined them for a few beers in a lovely bar near St Pancras/Kings Cross sort of area, which is unrecognisable from a few years ago. So much re-generation. It really is staggeringly different. Seems their approach was to knock down everything for a good sort of square half mile and start again. Good approach. That area really was nasty before. Now its kind of a sanitised, but safe feeling, modern part of the city. As a bonus, my son loves the half-and-half scarf I bought outside for a quid because I was cold.

Today I am expecting some news - but it depends on how true some of what I heard yesterday was. The source wasn't actually even anything to do with LCFC although it does concern LCFC. We shall see though. Not going to post details here in case a) its not 100% and b) people either start celebrating/commiserating as a result.

That was the first game I've actually been to this season - although watched most others on a stream. Does NP always make such a thing of publically hugging the players etc on the pitch and clapping the fans for a long period. Might just be because of the abuse he has taken recently so I'm sure he appreciated the chants of support.. The West Ham fans around me all thought it was a bit of a 'goodbye' though. A few commented on it. Perhaps they are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 though.

Had a pretty good weekend in London, apart from the result of course. Met a great girl who worked on the hotel reception, her name was Charmaine she was black and and had a gangsta style cockney accent which I really enjoyed. Met another nice girl who worked in the VIP bit in the casino she was nice but was working so couldn't spend too long with her as I wasn't playing £50 a hand poker. Shame.

Also at the hotel breakfast had finished so had to have a guinness. Not bad.

Been to Lapland for the day to take kids to see santa (well yesterday but mainly been asleep today!) Got on the plane and thought the bloke sat next to me with his wife and kids looked familiar, then figured out it was actually Sean Dyche! He was actually quite friendly and commiserated with me on our current form. Weird!

Bet that cost a fair few pound notes.

Went out without my debit card. Thought It had fallen down the cushion as well as the holder I keep my buspass in. not there. Went in the bank because I was sent a new one last week even though I did not ask for one. Would not accept the pin. Got cash over the counter enough to last until my new pin arrives.

Something always goes wrong near Xmas. I'm expecting something to happen to my electric xmas eve.
