How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

Its at the top end near where the athletic stadium used to be. It is just a private members club, not particular political leaning as far as I knw. Like WMC hardly have anyone working go in. Went in last year when I played Dominoes for the Kings Head. OK for those not wanting to mix with the riff raff, isn't that right Matt?,

Used to be.

If you want riff raff around there you have the Avenue, Aylestone WMC, Saff WMC The Midland (still open) and there used to be a pub down Knighton Fields Road just by the bridge.

The Avenue and The Manchester have both closed down. The Midland is ok never had any trouble in there myself, like most pubs like that if you want trouble you'll find it, if you don't you'll be fine.

Exactly, used to enjoy nights at those pubs in the pool and darts leagues.

Last time I was in the Midland they had a stripper on for a bloke's 80th, dirty old goat had his hands everywhere.

The fact that there is a Conservative club on Saffron Lane should tell you just how conservative you have to be to be a member.

That doesn't mean much to me mate, I know the areas from visiting family and going to watch City, but I don't have a clue about what the areas are really like.

Thanks mate, going to Holme next the sea, looking forward to going to the jolly sailors at Brancaster love it there.

Love that pub. Seemingly every time I'm there I bump into some city fans. There's a great brew-pub in Heacham if you fancy the drive.

Good luck with the job.

Fellas, the Jolly Sailor have a beer festival mid summer,4 families camp down the road and we get smashed, brilliant Ska band the other year. However the Mrs went last year with the kids as I had a date with Kasabian.

Good pub in Salthouse for food and a nice one in Stiffkey( we had to book for breakfast)

It stems from years of being looked down upon by toffs with upturned noses. Nothing personal.

Was thinking about this today Ken and where do you find these people?

I'm 32 now and have been to a lot of places, I think I could count on one hand the amount of people I've met who I thought were 'toffs'.

I want to know if Ken managed to beat the toffs at dominoes?

Con clubs are all in shitholes. They're just wmcs really.

The Saff is one of Leicester's, er, more interesting estates. Webster is implying that not many of the land owning gentry reside on Neston Gardens, like.

Hmmm.

Bit of a difference in my experience, certainly wouldn't compare the West Leicester Con Club to many Working Men's club's I've been in.

Yeah but you can tell the difference between the Tramplighters and the Market Tavern, you've a rare gift.

I got asked to leave the Market Tavern a few weeks back, beat that for class.

Anyone slightly worried about Ken? Not seen for 2 days since attending the Conservative club.

This will be a bigger conspiracy than Zingari if he doesn't turn up soon.

Had a physio appointment about my little toe that seems to dislocate every time I step on the football pitch. Which is pretty painful as I play through it every time. Got given some special inner soles to try and rectify it before being referred to the Podiatrist. It feels like I've got stones in my shoes/boots now.

Doctors appointment soon, wish I could snap out of feeling like this!

Good luck. I'm not an expert but I've been through a similar experience. Do you read? I know it sounds like quite pathetic advice but I found regular reading the most successful practical step I took. Also minimising internet use. Like I said, I'm not an expert! But all the best.
