Took my son hospital on Tuesday for an MRI scan on his brain. He almost 15 months old but still cant sit up brilliantly and can only roll over. Putting him to sleep was heart wrenching. Hopefully we get positive results and he is just a slow developer. Has anybody on FT had similar issues?

Had a slightly similar issue with our daughter. She didn't walk until 2yrs 7mths (15-18mths is average, I think). She didn't crawl either, just bottom-shuffled - including for months with all other children at nursery walking around her, which was a bit strange.

Just after we'd first referred her to a specialist, she suddenly started walking.

Likewise, a mate's son barely spoke for 2+ years - but is now a graduate engineer. Kids often develop different skills at different speeds.

I'm sure you're doing the right thing either way, though, having him checked out. If there's an issue, the medics will be able to address it early and in the (hopefully likely) event that all is fine, you'll be reassured. Good luck!

Thanks Alf. We just wanted to make sure we do everything we can to try and resolve it asap rather than just sit and wait and hope for the best. Hopefully some more physio sessions will help him out

Fantastic. Been offered a full time job after working my ass off on agency work. Wage rise and a hell of a lot more stability :)

well played brother.

I've got an interview next week, I like my current job so pressure is off a bit, new job would be the start of a career but won't be shitting it for the interview cos it won't be a disaster if I don't get it.

Hope everything turns out OK KIngcarr, could be a muscular problem which might need physio to build up the muscles.

I know what you mean, but that kind of carefree attitude can sometimes come across at interview. I've found myself when I've applied for jobs that I don't put everything into it if I already have a decent enough job.

I think if you really want the job you have to have the mindset that it really matters that you get it, if you know what I mean.

Good luck anyway!

Thx PR

Hes had a few physio sessions but tbh the physios r useless. I took him for a review on Monday which they decided he needs more physio (no shit sherlock). He will be going to a more 1 on 1 session from now on. we sit him up as much as possible to try and get his core muscles and leg muscles working as much as possible.

NHS paediatricians arent willing to give you any idea of what the problem is until they are absolutely certain so instead of living in the unknown we also took him to a private paediatrician who says its a muscle tone problem but doesnt know whether it is caused by a neurological problem or a genetic problem. Im hoping the MRI scan will give us more answers rather than more questions. It would be at least nice to know the cause rather than constantly guessing. At least then we would be able to progress forward.

Hers hoping we get positive results

Hope everything goes well KC.

Got this weird thing at the minute where I'm getting a headache every single day at virtually the same time. Starts about 10am and get's worse until about 12, then it's hell for an hour and from about 1 it's starts to get a bit better and now's it's just starting to go.

Only idea I've got is the brightness on a new phone I have got last week? Any other ideas?

yeah that's true. I'm the kind of person who rarely worries or gives one about anything but when I do I usually competely fvck it up though, but if I just relax and think let's see how this pans out I'll tend to ace it.

so hopefully it goes that way rather than them thinking I'm so laid back I clearly don't give a crap haha.

Now onto your problem. It could be something to do with your phone but surely you use your phone in the evenings aswel? So then i would expect you to have headaches all day. if its not light that has caused your headache how about a smell?

Have you perhaps changed your Deodorant or aftershave? im just thinking if your headache goes around the same time then maybe its some sort of smell that you use in the morning which wears off by afternoon? It may even be a new toothpaste or mouthwash?

Is there anything you use in the mornings that is new?

I was going to ask if you were drinking enough, but that would be a silly question.

Seriously though I know your not a big health freek but maybe drinking more water and eating healthier might help.  I've read cluster headaches can often happen at the same time of day and last a while.

Applied for a random selection of game shows and just received a voicemail from a lady at Mastermind. If I actually managed to get on, I've already researched the lowest ever score (5).

What's your specialist subject?

You need to stop drinking earlier, so your hangover is out of the way in the morning.

Had to pick three, so I went with Leicester City 2005-15 (wasn't sure on how long or short the timespan needed to be), capitals of the world and the England football team 2005-15. I know a little about a lot, rather than a lot about a little, which isn't ideal for Mastermind!

Provided I didn't panic, I think i'd score ok on Leicester City though, and general knowledge can always go either way.

Cheers guys, I'm actually drinking less at the minute and nothing has changed in my lifestyle that I can think of in terms of the morning - I'll see if it's still happening next week and if so will probably go to the Docs.

I generally hit 6-7 on the Genreal Knowledge but have hit as high as 10 and as low as 2. Complete Pot Luck as it's supposed to be.

I did get 5 answers the other week when a guy has Curb Your Enthusiam as his specialist subject, was pretty happy with that. I think mine would have to be history of the World Cup or the Mafia.

Yeah I can usually hit around 5/6 as a par, but that could go either way of course. Provided I got lucky and avoided subjects like food & drink, classical music etc I could do reasonably well. Same with Eggheads whenever I've watched that, i'm either getting more answers than Kevin or having no idea whatsoever.

I was tempted by the World Cup and The Godfather, but I haven't seen Part III enough and could only answeron post 1998 WC's with decent accuracy.

Guessing there would be some kind of preliminary stage to pass beforehand anyway, so I might not even make it as far as the television humiliation.

Be a great experience though.

I'd give The Godfather a good shot as well, must have watched it 25 times. Although again second and third ones far less (despite the second being almost as brilliant as the first).
