How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

Not the best of days. :(

Well some of you may remember a couple of months back that i shared that my son had a choking issue... We found out a bit more info today.

We were referred to a neurologist. The neurologist now suspects that he had a stroke either during delivery or just before. Apparently when the mother starts to increase her clotting agents just before deliver there is a small risk on of these clots can be passed on to the baby. He is showing left sided weakness and cant really do as much - its becoming more obvious as he gets older. he gets an MRI done in a couple of weeks and he'll be intubated for that and sedated. to make sure they get a good MRI done. Either way, stroke or not he DOES have left sided weakness and isnt able to use his left arm much.

The future? Lots of physical therapy. He's not developing as well as the dr would like but with intense therapy he should make improvements. Just don't know how much he'll improve.

He doesnt know though, he doesnt care. He's still a happy little boy and probably doesnt even realise he's supposed to have 2 arms to use... He's 5 months old.

Sorry to hear this. We are thinking about you and your family.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the MRI will be successful so they can ascertain and provide the therapy your son needs.

Mph and king those are some tough situations. I look at my 2.5 year old and thank god he is well for most part. He has an extreme case of idiopathic toe walking which is a pain but nothing compared to your kids. Hoping for the best of outcomes for both your little ones.

Not bad. Volunteered at the TRJFP t the West End Centre. They did a nice menu. They had some Camp coffee as a PAYF  give away. Took a bottle to try also had a packet of crumpets. My work was the payment plus some cash.

Then went onto the Blood Bowll group. Good group of lads. Played a friendly but lost despite the one teaching me was playing both sides. My dice rolls were not good.

Went on their Facebook page and mentioned I was looking for a name for a team and the name Rincewind came up. Now I don't use that name anywhere but here. Turns out he is an occasional poster. He never used a FT username either.

I was lent a handbook to study so just need the figures. I would say the game has elements of chess within the tactics of moving the pieces to advance from one side to the other to score.

Wrote too much here. Should be in the boardgaming thread but its 3.15am so I'll leave it now.

Dentist for some work,as if that's not bad enough I know it will cost me £500 and I unfortunately lost a backish tooth .min £1000. Better ways to spend it but You need to look after your teeth.

Not those that aren't in your head anymore. Tip of the day - Keep losing teeth and the dental bills will go down.

Thanks Jattdogg. It is tough cause you just dont know what the future holds. Your thoughts are always on the worse case scenario, but whatever the future holds it wont change the fact he is one of my best friends already and i will do absolutely everything to give him the life he deserves.

Im sure MPH will agree with me 100%

I know what PAYE is.

Not heard of PAYF but sounds dodgy!

It is pay as you feel. Interpret that as you like.

It is a project to cut down food waste. We take any unused donate fruit and veg etc  from the market shops and supermarket chains  and serve it up to anyone that comes along to the event. Yesterday there was spicy tomato pasta, olive rice and stuffed peppers Peri peri and pulled pork pannini. For dessert apple waffles with double chocolate sauce and fresh melon.

People just put into a box what they like in cash or donate other things. The volunteers pay by preparing and serving.

We are starting to get a little more organised. It was a little chaotic last week with orders getting behind and people getting in the way of each other so now there is a role roster and set rules for serving. It is a case of trial and error as in new ventures.

In the kitchen we have to wear plastic hairnets and disposable aprons so it abides to H&S rules. Would not be approved otherwise.

For some people the meal they have there could be the best one they have had all week. Anyone is welcome even millionaires like MattP. :)

Going to a fancy dress party tonight. If anyone is in town and sees a Lego man, come and buy me a beer.

With the amount of people potentially buying you drinks, you'll be in pieces by the end of the night. :D
