How Was Your Day?

Totally agree.... the worst thing my Mum and Dad in law have had to contend with since we lost my Brother in Law have been people avoiding talking to them when they see them - people who would normally chat have just crossed the street when they see them... I know people find it hard but just being yourself at times like this is what they would want.

I don't get this approach - if something bad has happened someone then it is your duty as a friend to give them as much support as possible. I always try to give a hug first thing, then possibly talk some shite in their ear after inquiring about the family et al

Fecking shite... this is the worst year ever.

2 bereavements in a fortnight and now my Sons been told hes likely to be made redundant within the next 2 weeks. No chance of him getting a job in this bloody environment.

BOLLOCKS

Goodness me, people are having some tough times on here at the moment :(

So sorry about your mum Raj, I doubt there is anything anyone can say to give you comfort at this moment but people do care I hope you know that.

I hope things start to pick up for everyone.

My Mum died on Thursday exactly 4 months after my Brother passed away.

She died of heart failure.

This all after going thro Chemo and then Radiotheraphy from her cancer that she had

Dont think she ever recovered from My brother passing away so suddenly.

Dont really know how i can recover from this double hammer blow.

xx

Just seen this - what a tragic double-blow for you, Raj.

My condolences to you and the family.

And here I was, thinking "Where the hell has that lovely twat gone in the past few weeks and months?"

Now I know.

I hope you do recover well, because I'd love to see the same old family fart back online.

This topic seems to be all gloom and doom at the moment!

My heart goes to Raj and his family during this rough perioud, mind....

I found a £20 note and got a £30 reward for finding someones iPod... £50 for doing (practically) nothing!! xD

Finally turned to the dark side and bought an iPhone today.

Also watching Secret Millionaire has reminded me of the amazing work LOROS do so I've just donated £100 to them.

An expensive day overall but well worth it!!

Thinking of Raj also though, horrible time for such a good bloke. All the best mate.

Did I read he was in the building trade a while ago?

Tell me about it, in a week and a halfs time i'll have been made redundant 1 year, During that time i've had around 5 - 6 months on and off temporary work from the same company, and its ongoing temporary work, so i've not down too bad, but desperate for the perminent job, but want to stay in the trade i've been training and that I have a career in, currently off at the moment, but glad because I want to watch Cheltenham :giggle:

The annoying part and part that gets you down is the lack of jobs and the amount of applicants when you do then apply, I had an interview last month, for a very small company, 60 people had applied.

Best of luck anyway.

Thanks Matt, I know you know what its like.

Yeah hes an apprentice roofer but has only done 16 months of his apprenticeship so doesnt hold out much hope of getting anything. He'll be aiming for some sort of labouring job but theres nothing around at the moment. Hes talking about joining the Army which is my worst nightmare but he cant stand not working and doesnt see much of an alternative.

If hes half way through his apprenticeship he should be alright, Construction Skills should be able to find him another company to complete it with shouldnt they?

Just my understanding, a mate of mines brother lost his job half way through his apprenticeship and they found him another company pretty quickly

Nah, its an internal apprenticeship... long story but its a specialised sort of roofing so theres no college work involved its just their own training programme so the work hes done so far wont be any use anywhere else I dont think. Thanks anyway though

Yeah I lost my job halfway through my apprenticeship, a small family run business employed me, they were all brickies, but the said i'd work with the sub-contract Carpenter...Did I fuck, basically they want some young cheap lad to labour for them, which at the time suited me, my thoughts were it'd get me through my apprenticeship, but then when the busy period ended they told me look, we're not right for you, you're not right for us, start looking for another job, so I then found myself working in a workshop which is what i've ever done since, looking to move out of that a learn abit more site work (As in fitted kitchens, not building site work as such) but in the current climate, especially in the building trade I have to accept anything that comes up at the moment, can't really be picky.

Now, How Was My Day?

Shite, Had a shit first day's betting for Cheltenham - Could have fucked me for the week, reckon tomorrow's make or break, if i'm still well down tomorrow I think i'll stop on the betting front for the festival :giggle:

Hoping a Leicester win can cheer me up tonight :fc:

Yesterday was utterly immense. Teaching Inter fans Leicester songs in Leicester Square, getting farcically chucked out of Spoons, the atmosphere train, the 1-0 win, the Partridge quotes, not knowing where anybody was etc, etc, etc... lol

It was only marred by the idiotic stewarding and policing at the game. FTers, you truly are kings (and queens) among men (and women).

Oh, and I met Serge from Kasabian in the away end.

An arguably better days betting than yesterdays, still not doing very well and I don't want to jinx things (Things can't get too much worse for my betting this week anyway) but I can feel the change coming.

Had a few Guinness', Going college soon, then have a few more pints of Guinness after college I reckon
