How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

EDIT; Jesus Christ, I've just seen what IoWFox put, I didn't see that before typing this out. I'll leave it up anyway but I am really sorry to hear that.

Basically I've been unemployed for a very long time, my mate has just started a tour of Europe and left his job at Caterpillar in Desford as a result, so he put my name forward (which I'm very grateful for) and I was called, signed up to Flex Recruitment in Hinckley and started work on Monday, I wasn't available on Tuesday (fvcking LCFC lol) which I'd already planned so I was pretty grateful that I didn't have to go in on that day, I had my induction on Monday and spent all day there, not a lot happened but they did drug tests, showed me around it etc... I was given a Caterpillar card and some boots and a hi-viz, the boots were to cost me £18 out of my first wage packet.

Basically it seemed like a standard warehouse and I was glad to start, I turned up yesterday and today and did the days of "training", I was apparently doing this for my first two weeks. I do make the odd mistake but I didn't work badly and I can genuinely say I didn't piss around at all, just got on with it.

Call off them an hour ago, "this is so and so from Flex, you're no longer required". This is after three days there, one of them being induction. Not needed? Not fvcking well needed? Why though? If I was;

a) not good enough, then why has the one person I've spoken to about it since from there claimed that I picked it up quicker than they did? It's such bollocks anyway, you surely can't judge that after two days when you're given two weeks training, unless you go seriously wrong, and did I? Did I fvck. Being honest not arrogant.

b.) genuinely not needed, then why was I taken on in the first place? I'm aware they've just loads go but why take me on if they're gonna fvck me off that quickly?

It's absolutely shambolic and I'm appalled. I was not told for one second this could possibly happen, it's come as total shock to me.

Don't touch them. They're cvnts.

Really?

Did you speak to them about why you was finished and what happened? There must be a reason for it..

Went for an assessment for a Social Care course at LAC. Thought it was going to be related to the work. All it turned out to be was an exam best suited for 10-12 year old. The examiner said I had done well as if she was surprised.

It basically consisted on a make believe event in Leicester at Abbey Park. First question asked what prizes were on offer, third prize, in the raffle etc which was stated in the opening paragraph and description. Then it was finding spelling mistakes, saying how you would get there and activities you'd like to see . Then fill in missing words which I found the hardest. It was about the fun run which I as Hugh Sless had entered.

Then finally I had to write a letter to a friend asking them to come along and see me run.

I found it easy and I would have thought most other people would.

The room itself was full. Others may have been assessed on other things but there were a few doing child and adult care. I have enrolled for a taster/introduction course starting in January. They put on it Demetra awareness which may be just part of it.

Was hoping for something sooner but based on it I may get conditional offers of work. Will help my CV anyway.

Lucky lad,I do like the Thai islands not too sure about the Full Moon these days.Enjoy.

Cheers, it was pretty good, had a trip up mushroom mountain and ended up getting back to the hotel at 11 and sleeping for 2 days, great sunrise though. Now on koh sumui for a few days then heading to koh tau to do my padi. Now looking to see if the Leicester game is on tv tonight.

Had some really shit news in that my nan had passed away back home the other day which threw me a bit, can't do anything from the other

side of the world and it's sad and frustrating at the same time. But would wanted me to keep going and enjoy myself so that's what I'm trying to do :/

Did four hours at the Heat Foundation shop. I was put with the electrician testing eTV's etc. I can confirm that all goods are fully tested and are in good working order when put out on the shop floor. Someone came in to test the plugs and put an approved passed sticker on the goods that had been tested.

There were a couple of nice keyboards. One £20 other £25. One had the stand to go with it. Not small ones and they had plenty of funtions so would suit a musician/band member just starting up or learning.

Just came back from a weekend in Brum had a good time but always costs me a fortune. The wife has bought a couple of handbags in the past.Handbags that the price tags made me feel sick for weeks. Now today she has out done that, she was wanting a new car( not brand new) and it looks like she is getting a Mercedes CLK 200 sport convertible ,I must admit I liked it too.

Is this a bragbrag or does it qualify as a humblebrag (because the car isn't brand new)?

humblebrag would be better.im not really a car person to be honest either, prefer the handbags.

You do realise she'll need a new handbag and shoes, in fact a whole new outfit, to coordinate with the car. :D

MsFoxy liked to do the same. Due to the amount of money she was spending on ebay I know know most of the designers and what prices their bags sell for.

On another note, we won our Ulster championship match :scarf: so we're now into the semis. Hopefully our next match is at home as the drive to Enniskillen today was a massive pain in the arse.
