How Was Your Day?

On another note, we won our Ulster championship match :scarf: so we're now into the semis. Hopefully our next match is at home as the drive to Enniskillen today was a massive pain in the arse.

Well done. At my age I celebrate getting a semi too. :P

Drinking from 8am until 3am and going on a mechanical bull between those hours is not a wise move as my broken thumb and dodgy back will testify.

Real men play AFL.....but congrats anyway.

Did four hours at the Heat Foundation shop. I was put with the electrician testing eTV's etc. I can confirm that all goods are fully tested and are in good working order when put out on the shop floor. Someone came in to test the plugs and put an approved passed sticker on the goods that had been tested.

There were a couple of nice keyboards. One £20 other £25. One had the stand to go with it. Not small ones and they had plenty of funtions so would suit a musician/band member just starting up or learning.

Those charity shops are anything but charity, the products in there are awfully over-priced. I thought the whole idea was to generate some cash, not to try and rob people blind and price things higher than the high street. The one local to me wanted £15 for an old cassette player!

The one I work in specialises in electrical and furniture. A lot of the stuff is donated by High Street stores. It is all tested and only goods in working order and good condition is sold. Is £150 over priced for a washing machine? or a cooker.

There may be some shops where the price is too much but they are there to raise money for their respective charities. You can get a TV from £15 in working order with a guarantee. Of course you can go somewhere like Curry's pay 10 times as much plus insurance plus delivery then have it nicked by some 18 year old just out of a young offenders unit.

If you are on a low income it may be a luxary that you can afford.

Not sure where else to put this little tidbit of news, but it has made my day somewhat. Basically, the Olympic DVD lasts 15 hours - I've heard from our team leader that the team I was part of and performed ceremonies with is in at least 2 ceremonies shown on the DVD. I think I might add that to my birthday/Christmas wishlist!

On the way home I receive a phone call on my mobile. Thought it strange as it is a new sim card and number. I answer it and it's somebody babbling on in a foreign language. I wait for a pause and say speak English. He goes no speak English

Get home and there is a text.

Him: 'Siamo i due raggazzi che in casa leytonstone stiamo aspettando a stratford'

Me: No Comprende. Numero error

Him: We are to stratford. I am domenica Were are you?

Me: Wrong number: Him Sorry

A few minutes later another call .

Me hang up and add number to reject list.

I'm guessing from the little Spanish I know and the similarity that it is Italian. At the moment he is living near to Stratford. Don't know how my new number came up

Good day today..

Played on the new Footy Manager this morning, then mi lady came over, went out on our bikes (bloody cold!!!) then back for the Liverpool game and a nice lasagne.

Unfortunately now I have to suffer Strictly (alright my loves) AND X factor...

Strictly is okay - just for Vicky Pendletons legs though lol

Pretty good, met up with an old friend I'd not seen for 3-4 years, always great when you can do that with someone and after 5 mins of chatting with a pint it feels like you saw each other last week.

Bad news is I might have to meet someone next Saturday afternoon for business which will mean leaving the Forest game on around 65 mins to get a train to London.

I'll be going to outrageous lengths to avoid it. I should be able to make it with a taxi outside at 80 mins if the worst comes to the worst.

Officially confirmed I have made the cut lol. My giving silver to GB has made it. Apparently on for all of 5 seconds! :D
