How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

You've got no chance. By the time everyone polls in at 8am you'll be looking and feeling a right state.

Only 12 and a half hours to go!

Tell me about it. My boss will let me go at eight and I think I'll probably have to but I'm hoping I'll get a bit of a buzz when everyone shows up.

Just been doctors to see if I needed more pills and they have a result for blood tests. It seems I have some liver damage and have to limit my alcohol intake to a pint a day. I may as well quit altogether. Pity as Wetherspoons have a beer fest on. Also I am low on Vitimin D and have a six month of pills to take. Still have to take eye drops and wear a patch at nights. Apart from that I am OK.

I had cut my ale down anyway just a spree once every fortnight where I had about four. Not much point just having one jo it will be non-alcohol from now on.

Don't see how anyone living in this country for the past 6 months could be low on vitamin D!

Still going strong or did your boss take pity on you and let you leave early?

I bailed at 8 in the end, what a pussy. :D

If I hadn't been out Saturday night I'm confident I'd have gotten through to 12, I got a bit of a lift when everyone showed up and there were people to talk to - one of them team even brought me a Maccies breakfast.

But narh I was beat. Came home and had a sleep, not back in until midday again tomorrow so I'll have a hefty old lie in in the morning and be back to normal haha.

Spent the weekend in Berlin, was absolutely mental, but I'm totally ****ed mentally and physically and have a stretch of night shifts on intensive care from tonight.

I got nutted in the face by a huge German guy in the early hours of Sunday morning and can't remember why, think he said something and in my pissed state I squared up back to him, stupid thing to do. When my friends all surrounded him in the bar I begged them not to do anything and even when the police turned up and asked me if he was the guy I said no. Not sure why.

Now my face is ****ed and think my nose is broken, not going to look good in front of patients/families.

It gets worse. The day Thatcher pops her clogs I have to give up drinking to rejoice with.

Lovely irony. If she had stayed in power, you would never have been given enough free money to get so rat arsed all the time that you've ****ed up your health. You'd probably be working full time (because you would have no choice), have more money and be healthier. But as it is you can't celebrate her death with a couple of beers because the supposedly caring socialists provided you with everything you needed to destroy yourself and achieve nothing. Really nice bit of irony that.

In the past year I have only been having to cut down anyway. No more than 4/5 per week sometimes. Can't afford more. I have part time work now. Even if I was working full time it would only be minimum and I'd still be able to claim benefits like 65% of those that claim.

He was on four or so ales a week, not a bottle of vodka a day, for chrissakes. He's also stated quite openly that before the last couple of years he'd worked solidly all his life.

And Thatcher oversaw record unemployment so how exactly do you figure the rest of your post makes such obvious sense?

Sounds like a good night.

I got nicked in New Zealand last month, wasn't pleasant at all being sat in a room with a shitload of Moaris twice my size all eyeing me up. You can generally get away with playing the innocent tourist card.

There are elements of truth somewhere in what Moosebreath said though - even though they clearly do not apply directly to Nightguard.

Thatcher will polarise opinion, even where facts can be entirely, conclusively agreed upon. That will never change.

She had admirable qualities in terms of leadership, but equally it was her policy and seeming disdain for entire communities that understandably, rubs some people up the wrong way. If you were close to it and affected by it, thats difficult to shrug off.

It was one of those weekends where everything that happens is ****ing hilarious and you can't remember 80% of it. I know it's a cliché to say it was like living the hangover, but I honestly don't know how else to put it. It was either the best weekend of my life or the worst.

Got a massive dilemma.

I'm in my first year at university, currently studying Civil Engineering. My exam results in January were good (all 60% plus - 2:1 and higher) with little effort put in. Problem is that I have absolutely no motivation or desire to go to lectures which I find boring/uninteresting and as if I learn very little and doing work is becoming more and more of a task as I'm becoming more and more disinterested.

I am highly considering changing course at the end of the year but I'm not quite sure as it would mean more debt when I finish university, having to start at Year One again (effectively wasting this year) and potentially 'forgetting' information for my new course that I'd learnt from A-levels. If I was to change course, I would be looking at Engineering Physics or Optometry...

Does anybody have any past experience regarding these sort of matters? Any advice would be appreciated!

Life's too short to be stuck in a career/trade you don't like. You're young and now is the time to learn what you really want to do. I say follow your gut, what's more debt to being in a career you'd actually like. When you're young you're still working out what you want from life, it's ok to do a year at uni and realise that course isn't for you. I wouldn't say the year would be a waste either, just chalk it down to experience.

Ken's worked full-time for most of his life. It's only the past year or so that he's not been working and he said he's only had about 4 pints a week since then, so he hasn't been getting rat-arsed on anyones 'free' money.

Edit : It'd already been said, but I hadn't read the whole page.

Don't let truth come between Moosetwat and his usual right-wing bollocks.

I'm having one for you, Ken. Join me in a celebratory bifter Empty?

I would defo join you in a bifter but I'm not sure about celebrating her demise - I'm a bit of a sensitive soul when it comes to things like that, plus it's against my religion lol and my Grandad was a big Thatcher fan so I don't want him shaking his head at me aswell as God!

That said, after reading the other thread I can understand the strong anti-Thatcher feelings that many hold, but the celebrations are not really my cup of tea. It's reminded me of when Jade Goody died and I threatened to 'kick somebody in the head' on here when I first joined because he said he was glad about it or something like that. Probably would have battered me, but I was furious. lol

We'll just assume that NG's liver problems were caused by something other than alcohol then, shall we. We'll ignore what the Doctor has said, because that would be "right wing bollocks".

lol.

Fooking daggers. It has been a while since the king of idiocy has graced the forum on a weeknight. Ms Venezuala 40 Dollar out with Tyrone tonight, bro?

My doctor doesn't advise that I smoke, it doesn't mean that cigarettes are the cause of my cough, I get acid reflux.

You got a problem with your liver then of course your doctor's going to tell you you shouldn't drink. Four beers a week's not going to cripple anyone. With the greatest respect to Ken, at his age I imagine there's a lot of potential causes for some ****ed up inner workings.

I mean keep taking pot shots at the chap if it makes you feel better about yourself or makes you feel like anyone on here's laughing along, applauding ol' comedy Moosler. But know that you just come across like a two-bit bully coward rounding on the easiest target on here for your lulz.

Tragic, bud'.

I'm not sure if I should do the sleep out this Friday considering my health problem. It would be foolish to risk it.

For the record what I have may not entirely be down to drinking beer. I do not drink that much. I know someone that has above five pints 6/7 days. Even so I will cut down until my course of pills is done to quicken my recovery.

I have a question about the pills. What food do I need for vitimin D?
