How Was Your Day?

Recommended Posts

Today our newsroom is relocating to the Radio Leicester building. I wonder if anyone from the station will try to get us on air?

TBH RL is not my kind of radio. Only listen to it for the football. Will keep a lookout for Stringer and Young and see if they have any City info.

My day is now totally, squirmingly awful. Just went for a haircut. Came out and 'phone rang. Client in Brighton saying the dreaded "where are you ?" thing. Only second time ever in my life I've just 'forgotten' a meeting. And a big one, too. Can't stop squirming. Room full of people waiting, lunch laid on, presentation area ready ..... just missing a speaker ! Can someone please make the guilt go away for me ?

Last night CF junior (9)was in deep shit for calling his older sister a w&nker.First time I have heard him swear and hopefully the last for a few years.Early night for him,and being an outside type of person having to stay in his room was enough punishment as he cried for ages.i laughed ( when he wasn't around) as his sister had kicked the ball into the fenced off orchard at the back of the garden and he just came out with" well done w&nker "

I had had some X-rays on my knees a few weeks back, not good, both need replacing at 42!They are reluctant to do it at my YOUNG age and will have to see the specialist in July again.

Blood tests were mostly ok,but my plates were slightly low,but Dr thought the readings were wrong as been having a few probs with results of this test of late.Told me not that low,but will test again on Thursday.

There is some nice studio equipment at Radio Leicester.

What is happening is that there is going to be media training there. 3-5 Modules covering film making photography - article writing and radio and opportunity to take apprenticeships with the Beeb. radio Leicester is the first to introduce this and it is expeckted others will follow so if you are at school and interested in this as a career I am sure there will be news on it locally and national at some point.

Feels good to be involved at this early stage.

Was okay today in college let out of lesson an hour before it was normally due to finish, most of work done, next lesson the same. Then along come Maths everyone goes home early but me, the reason is i didn't pass on my math exam (no surprise it was a stinker of a test and to be honest I don't what on earth i was doing), but anyway i was forced to stay behind with my boring scouse teacher who I can't understand and look where went wrong. My weakness is measurements and litre's stuff and i've never understood stuff like that.

Now they want me to resit that exam which don't want to do, i know i will fail it again. My English exam was very easy and i found out the other day i passed that with top score. but i'm damned if have to sit through that maths exam again wasting my time sitting there, not knowing what to do.

Been a good day apart from that!

I'd advice you to research and get a Maths tutor to have a few lessons through the Mathematical aspects that you're struggling with, in other words 1-2-1 support; which can be held at the convenience of your own home.

Definitely resit it mate. Especially if it is free! You won't regret it. Is it A level maths you are doing at college or key skills?

You can always ask for advice here, Maths seems hard to some people because you either know it or you don't, there isn't really a middle ground. It's either easy or impossible, unlike social science where you can sometimes still collect marks by writing some bollocks even if you don't know what you're talking about.

In the past few days I've received three work offers; what is the best way to go about deciding which is the best option*?

* I'm not bothered about the financial aspects of it, nor the locations.

ADK - I agree with that idea as well.

So you're not bothered about the money nor the location? Hmmm why not go for the one you'd enjoy best?

Isn't this just a blatant humblebrag?

I was going out to the Y theartre for the Word night. Can't really be bothered.

Had a call yesterday from the hospital. They've made an appointment to see a

physiotherapist after I broke the left little finger. It's 9.30am

They wanted it to be 8.30 to start with

If I went out the event d0oesn't finish until gone 10.30 which is later than I'd like.

Woken up last couple of mornings with pain in my hands. Not sure if I've been

using the hand too much (carrying things)

Hopefully I am about over all my ailments. Reading computer screen better

and can get around without a walking stick.,

Things are looking up.

The locations are all only within a 25 mile radius from my Father's house (where I currently live); I've got a few funding schemes that assists me with my finances (too difficult to explain).

The ''problem'' is that these three business areas provides me with the potential opportunity to be promoted from the position that I would start from.

I apologize if I'm humble-bragging - just asking a question.

All three of them have promotion opportunities? Think long term then, it seems like you have few 'normal' concerns like location and salary so it looks like a great opportunity to do what you'll enjoy most or what you can succeed most in (whichever is more important to you).

Unless you have any major financial commitments, go for whichever you will enjoy most. 100% go for enjoyment - I once took a job with 50% wage cut because I enjoyed it more and never looked back.

Thanks both.

I'm having a 'meeting' with my parents tomorrow*, to seriously discuss this,

*I'm rather anxious about this, as my parents are divorced from each other.  :sweating:

@Foxesareblue, I haven't got any +1's left, so apologies that you didn't get one, and the poster above you did.

Guest Col city fan

The bad back/leg shenanigans has improved somewhat so Col went back to work two weeks ago. Went out for a decent bike ride yesterday, first time in ages. And tonight the sciatica appears to have raised its ugly and unwanted head once more..

Tomorrow my orthopaedic mattress arrives at a cost of nearly 300 quid.

Feel like a bloody old man at present. Whatever I do, mi dodgy disc seems to get angry.

Fookin thing... lol

I think this reflects very well on you as a person.

Went to the LRI. Given a series of exercises for my little finger that was fractured. Stiff at the moment and hurts mainly in the mornings but apart from that I'm healthy enough.

I didn't even realise you could get treatment for that?

I broke my fingers loads of times playing cricket over the years and I never went to hospital, just taped them up and waited a month or so for it to recover.
