What are you watching now?

I love that show, makes me proper hungry though.

The presenter apparently works out for 4 hours a day while on his adventures, and won't eat for a day or two after challenges. He is also a vegetarian when not presenting. Completely corny, but quite a likeable chap. And I wouldn't mind his job!

I'm watching Hearts V Liverpool - can't believe that post hit, how unfortunate

Man v food on Dave.

It's amazing this bloke isn't a huge fat bastard..

The portions he eats are enormous!

My mrs loves that. I`v taken some recipes from that show, pulled pork and cheese filled burgers to name but two  .

I love that show, makes me proper hungry though.

Too right, I`m in the fridge within the first 5 minutes of it starting

About A Boy ITV2 +1. Not too bad. Hugh Grant playing his usual role. Quite funny when the lad was feeding ducks with his mums homemde (rock hard) bread. He was having trouble breaking it up so threw the whole thing in the pond killing a duck when it landed on top of the poor thing.

There are two voice overs telling the story. The boys and Hugh Grant so referring to another thread would this be magic realism?

Same, I wonder how a weekly shopping trip would turn out if you watched 3 episodes back-to-back without eating?

I wish there were some proper diners in the UK. Some of the food they do in the States is just unbelievaballs. What do we have here? 4am kebab and Little Chef.

Haha yeah. And they're always out of stock of one ingredient in any recipe! "We're out of bacon I'm afraid, would you like an extra tomato instead?"

I do however like the exit lollipop. Always lasts the remainder of the journey, no matter how many miles.

There`s a pub near me that does a 24oz rump steak for £13.50 :chant:

No bandits, no pool table, no music, just spit, saw dust, beer and food. They do a 16oz gammon steak is £7.99 ffs....

Oh yeah, I used to frequent a place near Derby called the Ragley Boat Stop, great range of steaks for good money. Starve all day then 3lbs of t-bone, lovely.

Not complaining at our choice of meat. England has fantastic steakhouses, pies, chip shops, every kind of foreign cuisine - but when it comes to diners/proper pig out specialists, we're lacking. I mean, look at the sandwich places they have on that show. Then go in to Leicester and see what you can get. Spam and Philadelphia is probably the most adventurous you could go, and I doubt that'd be a good lunch. I heard they have Jalapenos in Subway though, and you can get a 2 inch sandwich and a fun-size Cola for just £7!

The Black Lion in Blackfordby (a couple of miles away from Ashby de la Zouch)

They do all cuts, American rib-eye, sirloin, T-bone the lot and its all at silly prices.

I love a proper steak.

Cheers...

Bad - I never knew The Wire was worth watching when it was on.

Good - I now get to watch all the series in one hit...I'm on S1E5 and hooked

I was the same or it would be on too late at night midweek. Then got recommended it and got hooked, not as bad as my dad he never watches any tv other than the news but he got hooked on The Wire when i gave it to him.

Adam Buxton's BUG - had no idea who this guy was when I saw him on buzzcocks a while ago and thought he was a bit of a twat. But just starting watching his show on Sky 1 and its hilarious, he reads out funny comments on youtube music videos. Simple format but as I say really funny.

I started watching it a while ago but got side tracked with another series probably.

My mates raved on & on about it though so may give it another blast.
