Not HMRC-related but have applied to get a V5C logbook for 4 weeks now via gov.co.uk, and it still hasn't come in the post - and paid £25 to get it done.

It could take another couple of weeks, but feel like a month without it coming is fairly poor service.

Asked HMRC for a letter with a reference number to pay a NI top up, 4 weeks and no sign of it yet. Surely, they just press a button and the computer generates it? That's how my old office worked. How can it take so long?

Following up on my last post. Letter received from HMRC today. Great, I thought.  But, no.....the letter does not include the critical 18 digit code that they say I need to make a payment. 4 weeks for a letter that doesn't include the one piece of information pthat I requested/they demand. You just couldn't make it up!

And there’s the final freelance client gone as they can’t afford me.

Thanks Brexiters, thanks Sunak, thanks Truss. You have completely fvcked my ability to earn a crust. No, I’m not going to argue with you that these aren’t the reasons why, because they are.

I have my core client that covers bills and won’t be going anywhere because of reasons. Maybe it’s time to see if I can capitalise on my poor juggling skills or something.

Don’t be so hard on yourself - after all that weight loss you can surely now just call yourself a fisherman?
