But it's not just a week or so; with the overlap between Diwali and Bonfire Night, my cat has spent the last two weeks under my bed trembling with fear.

 

It'll be the same again at New Year, or any time somebody has a birthday/wedding/engagement/barbeque.

Exactly this, why do they need to go so loud? My dog is fine and I don’t have cats. But I’ve seen the effects as I’ve had my dads dog stay recently as he is unwell and it’s heartbreaking. The poor sod is petrified and thinks I’ve bourght him too Iraq for the month.

Was thinking about this earlier. Would seem like a logical step to lower the decibel level of fireworks for household use.
