The phrase “it’s a short career” to justify the ridiculous wages footballers get, even the most bog standard player earns more a week than most of the workforce in this country do per year.

If they only play for 1yr that would relate to 52yrs on the coalface for Joe Public & for that reason the pampered little tools can do 1 as can all those that run that line.

This is fair enough.

I'd also expand this to any BS line that attempts to justify ridiculous payments in any profession, not just football.

The thing is it is valid for those playing at the lower end of professional football a league 2 player earning an average salary of 30k a year is not exactly going to be set for life and will be largely unemployable by 35. The argument makes sense for those who have to decide between a career in the lower echelons of the football league and a real job.

The problem is money gets so distorted as you go up the leagues.

Overly loud and dramatic music in documentaries, making the dialogues and monologues hard to hear. I am interested in the content, that’s why I’m watching the program in the first place - and if the content isn’t good music won’t convince me to keep watching.

Ridiculously thin beards and moustaches that look like they’ve been drawn on with a biro. I’m mean, what’s the point? Case in point, the very talented chef MichaelCaines.
