Fully prepared to die on that hill, bacon is just far too fatty and greasy. Turkey Bacon is the superior bacon

You've got an ally.  The only way flavour can be extracted from the plimsole quality cut of pork it derives from is from the vast quantities of smoking and salting it recieves.  Massively overrated stuff.

Supermarket bacon is shite, I agree. but get good bacon from a good butcher and it's a different thing.

That's it, I've finally read it, the very worst take there has ever been or will ever be on FT.

Completely unhinged.

For me it's not tasty enough to justify how the pigs are treated or how unhealthy it is.

Not tasty enough? Where are you people coming from. There is nothing tastier than bacon. It’s all the tastes. It’s got the meat taste, the salt taste AND the burnt carcinogenic particles taste. All the fvcking tastes.

How you have to accept cookies every single time you go on a website.

Actually you don't. Most sites now offer a choice of accepting or declining all but strictly necessary cookies.

Still a ball-ache, though.

Don’t know if it’s unpopular, but reading about the protests in France and it just reminds me one thing I hate is this romanticised British idea of the “stiff upper lip / keep calm and carry on” culture, which is really dumb, it fetishises being trampled on by the powers that be.

Wish we’d protest like the French do.

Our country has been run into the ground the past 13 years and we just sit there and take it. Not calling out individuals as I don’t protest either, but get the feeling they’d be a lot more push back in France it’s more the idealised British culture and that we’re just told it is what it, get on with it. (I’m sure it’s the same in other European countries as the UK too, but just that we always look down on the French and the old joke that they protest everything, as if it’s the inferior way).

And yet people complain about protestors blocking traffic or spray painting Shell HQ

English people gatekeeping English.

Especially when referring to how people from other English-speaking nations or from people who speak English as a second language don’t speak “proper English” because they learnt some American English phrase.

Especially considering how atrocious we are at bothering to learn other languages as well, so we don’t realise the struggle in learning a 2nd or 3rd language and then pedantically chide others for not knowing some specialist or hyper-specific useage of a word or regional difference in the language that really doesn’t matter in terms of being understood or not.

Patriotic English people who can’t spell or punctuate are the worst.

UK was never perfect, it's usually had more inequality and poorer public services than other Western European countries. But this party just wants to dismantle literally everything that is still good or works just to please an ever dwindling number of baby boomers who want the rest of us to be miserable. For all the talk of culture wars I'm surprised how passive people have been while this has been going on

Agree with 99% of this but "could care less" still warrants immediately being shot in to the sun.

There's a guy on a Facebook group I'm in who's one of these union jack profile pic types. Clearly racist. Spells white as "whyte". I appreciate some people have dyslexia etc but he's pretty good in the rest of his posts, he clearly just thinks it's spelt with a Y. Loves white people so much but can't even spell it.

When managers say banal things like,  'we want players with the right quality and character' as if they need to say that.

I can't wait for the day a manager says, 'What I'm looking for is a useless cvnt who can't kick a ball straight. If he's a gobshite as well, that's a bonus.'
