EA are fucking asshats.

Finally got round to buying a copy of FIFA 12 (dirt-cheap now) and brought second hand, assuming it'd be a simple insert disc and go - particularly since not once on the box does it mention the need for an internet connection, or any 3rd party software. Nope, it needs fucking Origin - which means since it's second hand, the activation code isn't valid, making that a waste of a purchase. Looking round the internet it doesn't seem like there's any way of installing without that piece of cunting software.

So, to summarise, EA are kusipää's and who ever was responsible for such an idea should be drowned slowly in acid while being subjected to Chris Moyles.

What format? I'm using PC, don't know if it's different for consoles (since with FIFA they pander to the consoles tae fuck).

I'd expect UT to be code and everything, but this is just trying to install the normal game.

Apparently you can buy a code for 8 squids or something to reactivate it. I have purchased a second hand EA game and that's what the guy at the counter told me. He may have been telling fibs. I don't play online anyway so I couldn't care less.

Have you been on EA site to find out? Have they not got a FAQ forum?

I've had a look on the EA site, and frankly finding something on there would be as unlikely as finding Finners leading a BNP march.

They're the online passes, I don't give a shit about online play - I just want to be able to play. Basically - the validation code they used to stick on games has been used, and unlike old games - this locks everything rather than just the online play. Anyway, I've nabbed me a new keygen for it, but it's a bit of a pisstake that they don't state you need origin to play it (it only says for Bonus Content - and the entire bleeding game is not bonus content).

Well the same goes for FM games, you need Steam to play etc regardless if you play online.

Anyway I'm no game expert, someone over on the games thread would be better equipped to help. :thumbup:

Yeah as of FM09, but since then - the FM box warns you you need internet connection to install, and it's made clear you need to use a service like steam to run the game. Likewise, you can't buy second hand copies - stores won't take them because they know it has to be validated. EA haven't done either of those and stores clearly don't know otherwise they wouldn't buy/sell second hand.

When I'm in a supermarket and I've bought 2 items and the check-out operator automatically puts it in a bag without asking, or worse yet, puts it in a bag even though I've said I don't need one. It's a banana and a bag of crisps! I'm going to walk out the door and eat them almost immediately! Not only is the bag wasteful, it's inconvenient!

That and people who think that the laws of the road don't apply in supermarket carparks (giveway markings, use of roundabouts, oneway signs.)

To be fair, I could keep going all day on the supermarket experience in general.

Or, indeed, any car park. An ex-Tigers player, for example, never, ever pays attention to the car park signs, when driving his over-sized, no doubt sponsored, BMW around the car park at my gym.
