I have an electric shaver (was an xmas pressie years ago). It requires packets of moisturiser, though can work without. However, having moved house, I no longer have somewhere to plug the fooker in to charge it. Also when I did use it, it gave me a rash, and loads of ingrown hairs. Was a propa decent one too apparently.

You said it was years ago so perhaps modern razors had improved? I never had a problem with it apart from the fact my hair is now sprayed everywhere whenever I shaved.

I've got a 'decent' electric shaver, I bought it in the January sales but it was originally £100 (I paid £50). It's absolutely rubbish it really is and takes twice as long to shave as a normal wet razor.

I have an electric razor and I only really use the trimmer part of it, unfortunately it seems to have severely lost its ability to cut cleanly through the hairs so now I just use my hair buzzer on its lowest setting - does the job fine.

In army training you had to shave every morning, including whilst on exercise. Using cold or luque warm water was horrible in freezing conditions. One of the lads bought a rechargable razor like these. Seemed a pretty good idea at the time but he found it crap at actually shaving compared to a normal razor. He actually got put on a charge for failing to shave after one morning inspection. He had shaved using thr battery thing. That was an expensive way of chucking 250 down the drain

You're best of doing 'real shaving'. I know that sounds pompous and arrogant and a bit out of touch, but get yourself some semi-decent stuff and you'll be great.

There is a hairdressers on Granby Street that does shaves for a couple of quid. Haircut £3.50. When I last went in I asked but it was after I had my hair done so left it. I have managed to grow a little beard so only trim it now.

Tell me about it! I heard a woman early say she was disappointed with the announcement. Why? Does she want an 85 year old man to work himself to the grave? That's not very Christian is it? And it's not like a politician you really like leaving his post meaning you might end up with a new one with completely different beliefs taking over, she'll get another Pope with similar views and beliefs.
