What grinds my gears...

The phrase "lost the dressing room".

What the hell does that even mean?!

You're a smart man you know what it means, and I think as cliche's go it is one that accurately describes the point where the players stop responding to the manager, that they have lost confidence in his ability and tactics, they reluctantly do what they are told and then complain when their half arsed efforts at obeying orders don't work.

I'm not saying that is what has happened at a certain club in blue, but usually when it does you have to either replace the players or the manager as the relationship has deteriorated to a point where they can no longer work together.

Which is kind of what I'm saying - hundreds of people have said it over the weekend and I'm beginning to doubt my own understanding of the phrase. Do people really think that players go, "No boss, ABSOLUTELY NO! You want me to play my best, but NO, IT'S JUST TOO MUCH! I'm going to play ****! AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME!!!"?

But it's not that they aren't doing what they are told, they just don't believe in it, eg a striker being told to stay in the middle and not go out wide searching for the ball, the striker disagrees with it as he wants to be more involved so stops making the runs he normally would and just remains static all game, then gets frustrated as he isn't getting the ball. He is not getting the chances and blames that on the manager as he is following instructions, when in reality it is because he is sulking.

Results don't go your way, players get frustrated because they are not playing well, manager gets frustrated, fans get frustrated, it escalates and you end up with fans, players and managers at loggerheads.

Tomorrow I'm going to sulk about having to do an extra row of post when I didn't want to.

It's not about doing more work, it is about being asked to do it in a way you don't agree with.

Imagine tomorrow your boss changes your route to improve efficiency, because he thinks he knows better than you, even though you know that your way is quicker.

Would you do it his way? Yes cos he's the boss.

Would you do it as fast as possible and put the effort in to prove him right, even though you think he's wrong or do it in a lazy manner cos that proves you right?

Captain Pancake Face's 'location' below his avatar, which is so long that it actually overlaps into his posts, making it more difficult to read them!

Happy now?

Websites with automatic video and/or audio content.

Ad block is your friend, I use ad block on google chrome and it is great, I've not bought anything since installing it, even skips ads on 4od.

I know AdBlock - and I can see it being really helpful when faced with unwanted ads or pop-ups, but does it work with (exclusive) video content such as news flashes on sites such as the Mercury, for instance?

It works on 4od, and I barely notice any ads these days, I actually installed it after getting sick of audio adverts and it worked a treat, incidentally it was adblock with google chrome, it is a simple add-in and can be done in seconds. Don't go on the Mercury site much, but never noticed any pop ups, or news flashes, not seen a youtube ad for a while either.

Highly recommend it, you've got nothing to lose anyway.

:D I say as if Welsh isn't almost as redundant.

By the by, is it a compulsory subject in NI? (Irish, not Welsh.)

No. There are bunscoils which are Irish speaking primary school which are strangely non denominational and have a reasonable standard. The meanscoil (secondaries) are ****ing terrible. The only exam they pass is Irish as they can't get specialists who speak Irish for all their subjects.
