Who put a quid in you?

If only you could see the irony in your extreme left stance.

Anyone who disagrees with you is a racist or xenophobic (regarding everyone the same) yet you're able to do just that and think it's ok?

My brother, a far more intelligent chap than I and slightly more leaning to the left than me put it perfectly the other day. He has friends like you, you just can't argue with them. Have q serious debate or make a serious point and you just go quiet, or become abusive unable to do anything else to argue your point.

I'm not saying 'bongo bongo land' is right. It doesnt sit that well wirh me. But anything you disagree with you scream 'xxxist' You remind me of Dangerous Tiger and Seenitall when they're on about Pearson. All they do is go, 'but Sven bleeeeeeuuuuyrrrrrgggghhhhhh' whilst completely ignoring the facts.

You're clearly an intelligent bloke but don't confuse that with being wise to the world cos you aren't.

You're a right boring so and so who needs to get out more. A lot more.

Thanks - a more elequant reply to what I put (I was tired at the time).

Pat Condell in a recent video summed the sort up pretty well. There is no point arguing with a know it all!

It's eloquent and well written, but it generalises and misses the point of the conversation. Admittedly that apparently was the point.

Personally I don't like the 'anyone who disagrees is racist' argument, but then I dislike the 'anyone who disagrees is a nonworldly know-it-all who needs to get out and see how the real world works' argument either. They're both different sides of the same coin.

I know you're a big UKIP fan Lav, but as I've said above you should be concerned with what this bloke has said because it's only going to damage their reputation amongst the voters who they need to actually acquire a meaningful political base.

Accusative plural.

"Ad homines"

Write it out 100 times.

Can I copy and paste?

Is it hard being this stupid? I don't call anyone who disagrees with me racist/sexist/xenophobic etc. What I do is call a spade a spade: comments like this referring to a vast part of the world (Britains foreign aid budget is spread fairly wide, there's about 30 countries on the DFiD's priority list alone) as bongo-bongo land, as if these countries were all one homogenous group (and ranging from Ghana to Nepal, that isn't the case) are at best just moronic, but more likely complete ignorance of the world or xenophobia.

"Is it hard being this stupid?". lol lol

What if you came across as a boring liberal snob know it all who acts sanctimonious in the majority of their posts?

Yeah, you might say that is an opinion, just like I am a xenophone, racist or whatever else I've been called on here lol

It's funny you are quick to be abusive on here when defending an offensive phrase such as "bongo bongo".

Bongo bongo land is something you may have heard in the colony days from a  retued colnel

If he thinks he is speaking for the average bloke at the cricket club maybe he should have a word with some of the West indian team or Indian team.

I'm sure they'll love to hear his tales of residents of Bongo Bongo land.

The majority of my posts? I think not, most of my posts are complaining about something. Also - not a liberal, i'm a socialist.

eh, you spend all day dealing with an array of buffons at work and then come home to 20-30 post reports of people bitching about each other and you kind of lose any patience for people making dense statements.

Try not to be harsh on Al, to be fair nearly all the guys you come across that argue like this are students and generally grow of it when getting into the real World. I'm absolute certain he will as well. I realise that makes me sound like a patronising cnuts as well but I know exactly what you mean and I've seen it so many times before.

"You're clearly an intelligent bloke but don't confuse that with being wise to the world" - That's an absolutely superb quote, so so true.

Incidents like this reinforce the wide public belief (and, regardless of your protests, it IS a very widely held belief) that UKIP are a backwards, bigotted party. That they're a joke party, not a real party, that they hold silly beliefs, that they're racist or ignorant.

Pretty strong thing to say about a party our public is going to send to the EU next year as the winners of it's election.

A lot certainly do, I wouldn't say it's widepread though. You won't find a Tory who hates UKIP and putting the vote of the two together in opinion polls at the minute comes up with more than half the population.

Certainly less widespread than Labour being the party of the underclass and the Mick Philpotts of the World and I'd rather be seen as bigoted than that.

Are you saying the majority of people are ignorant?

Not unless you have decided that all Conservatives are now ignorant.

They do seem to attract them at times. I am glad to say I am not bigoted so as to brand thousands of good people with thr same brush as that Philpott.

I have no political  allegiamce. Any party that stands for fairness compassion and justice will part of the way of getting my vote.

Any party that spreads myths prepreceptions and stereotypes will move down my favourite list. {)

It's terrible to watch somebody completely losing it in front of you.

I'll tell you what party moves down my favourites list.

One that murders doctors in fields and sends the army round the World for ten years to massacre muslims and kill it's own countries youth. Not my idea of compassion or justice.

Pretty obvious from the context of his comments that he was using "bongo bongo land" as an umbrella name to refer specifically to those corrupt countries whose representatives receive aid and then keep it for themselves instead of distributing it as intended to those who need it.

If there was any malice in the "B" word then it was clearly aimed at the type of inhumane scum who would effectively steal a charitable donation; the type of people who will happily buy themselves a Ferrari with stolen money while kids in their own country starve to death. Those people are among the lowest of the low. "Bongo bongo land" was giving them more credit than they deserve.

Innocent people are dying today because that aid isn't getting through to the right place. It is a very serious issue and the world would benefit from giving it some real exposure. But let's not think about that eh lads? Not when there's a chance to throw an accusation of racism at a right wing MP. Left wing priorities - as flawless as ever.

The man is making a CLEAR disparaging reference to Africa, and it's fooking racist. This is a fact.

lol

Seems like you're the only one who automatically associated bongo bongo land with Africa. It's not even an African instrument. You betray a lot with that statement, but nothing we didn't already know.

More defending from the right, always the victim.

That's not just the right though, any politicians get their victim-complex going when called out on something stupid they said.

Anyway, Greenpeace - fucking morons with their "ermgad nuclear power/GM crops are evilll!!!!1111" nonsense, ignoring that nuclear power kills a third of the number of people that wind power does per terrawatt hour, properly designed power stations (i.e. not the soviet cost-cutting ones like Chernobyl) are incredibly safe, even Chernobyl has killed less than 100 people in 50 years, and the cases of cancer (which were incredibly low-threat easily removed ones) could easily have been avoided had iodine pills been distributed, and that some GM crops are perfectly safe (yeah, some caused problems, but take things on a case-by-case basis ffs). More importantly we'll need both if we want to cut down carbon emissions to deal with global warming. They're both undermining their own arguments and also giving plenty of ammunition to be used against environmentalists.

I think they call that cutting inside from the left. You'll be drifting across to the right wing before you know it.

I doubt it, I still disagree with the right on pretty much everything, I just don't like the organisations that paint lefties as moronic anti-science tossers. I agree with the need to cut down on destruction of the environment - although I wouldn't say the environment is as delicate as they claim: nature is pretty good at being a soulless bitch, look at evolution, it could be very basically summarised as let the weak die - but that they've tied it to being "bwwaa science is evil, everyone live in mud huts lest the scientists kill us all" pisses me off.

Anyway. meant to be off on holiday on Monday and I've left my wallet at work, meaning I have to go in first thing to go and fetch it.

rewritten.

I cannot understand why sticking up for the underdog is treated in a deroatory manner by some and pigeon holed as leftie or liberal.or in some cases both  If it was not for people in the past doing this there would still be landowner only votes, slavery and shipment of criminals to Australia amongst other things. I hate to see poverty and unfairness in 2013 Britain. This is not a political view as far as I'm concerned and I know many people that feel the same because they are decent people not raving loony revolutionries.

I know the majority on here are OK with one or two wind up divos. It all makes for FoxesTalk being the best forum of its type. ;)

Amazon Logistics!

Why can't you just post a DVD boxset like you used to?!?! Then if I'm out when they try and deliver it, I can pop round to the post Office Depot and pick it up. Now I've been stuck in all Saturday morning waiting for you to drop off something and the time window I have is 7am to 9pm!!! I can understand this service with a widescreen TV or a games console, but its the Inbtweeeners on DVD, does it really need a delivery man?
