lol seriously. That net cord shot when he won the point off it, he held his hands up and apologized, that doesn't make him a bellend, if anything that's good sportsmanship. People will bang on about the roof, but he even wanted it closed when he was LEADING. Leading being the key word. If he was losing then fair enough it would of been a bit idiotic of him, but he was leading, so there was really no harm in it.

Yep at Wimbledon, in front of Murray and home support. Home crowd made the difference, didn't see him top bombing in other tournaments especially in Paris when he faced Murray with a 50/50 crowd.

Right still not watched your video, I've just got up lol but the first part of this ost, that's what every player does, it's not some kind of exceptional sportsmanship to apologies for a net cord. Even the biggest willy puller of a snooker player will apologies for a fluked shot, it's the same in tennis. He's a bellend because he's up himself, there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and he's over that line. He didn't lose because of the crowd, he lost because he thought when he won set one, he'd taken the match, because he's arrogant. You could see it in his celebration.

Did he win the tournament in Paris? At least you've got more than one argument for him being so amazing though! Oh wait, "especially in Paris" And to say Murray only won because of the home advantage? lol Edited by Bert

What celebration?

Think people are underestimating the fact of how well he has done.

Last year Jerzy was playing future and challenger events, in some little shit tournament in London, this time last year, he had to go through qualifying at Wimbledon, qualified and managed to reach the last 32. He qualified for Paris and managed to reach the final, beating about 5 top 32 players. Now a year later, he is ranked in the top 20 of the World Rankings, a Grand Slam Semi finalist and continued to beat good players. About 220 in the rankings, playing future and challenger events, to top 20 in the rankings and a Grand Slam Semi finalist in a year. If that's not impressive then I don't know what is.

No but he beat about five top 32 players. Not just 1 or 2, his run was incredibly impressive. Just watch the video I posted Bert, then you will see. Home advantage of course works as well Bert, it worked with French players at the French Open, just look how well Monfils played because of the crowd.

So he beat 5 top 32 players yet still didn't win? Again that's the sign of someone that won't win a major. Of course home advantage helps, but to say he only won because of home advantage is daft.

Videos can be very deceiving though. I bet you'd not post one of his average/poor play.

How's that a sign? It was his second major tournament he qualified for, his second and he beat five top 32 players.

It didn't take him endless tournaments to find his feet, second major event and he reached the final of it.

When playing well, he is capable of beating most players, when he is off double faults in particular mount.

But he has only really been playing major ATP tour events for a year, and he's gone from Future and Challenger events, to top 20 in the World and a Grand Slam Semi finalist.

Take some time to research some of the jokers who have reached grand slam semis in the past and you'll stop getting excited. Vladimir Voltchkov anyone? He should be happy he made it, but it really means nothing reaching one semi final.

So Jerzy is a joker, start of last year he was playing future events in a shitty tournament in London, a year later he was ranked 24th in the World and automatically qualified for the Australian Open. Does that make him a joker, does that make him shit.

He's beaten top quality players, he's ranked top 20 in the World, he's a Grand Slam Semi finalist.

Voltchkov wasn't even ranked.

****s sake!!!! No! It just make him another one in a long line of players who will win nothing, certainly no slams, that have had decent runs at one slam.

How, why are you psychic?

He's still only 22, he's been playing major events for about a year, he's gone from 220th in the World to top 20 in the World in a year. Stop disrespecting his meteoric rise.

Or a semi then. Same as Jerzy boy. He'll never win a major. Doesn't have enough of an all round game to do so.

How do you know this though, you are all like making psychic predictions. He might do, he might not but it wouldn't surprise me if he does, and if he doesn't I'm sure he will win some good events. Federer and Nadal will either retire, or start petering out, Djokovic and Murray will be older, therefore gaps will be left to fill.

How many times have you seen him play Bert?

Not psychic, realistic. Don't get why you're so excited by him honestly! Lots of players make semis and win no slams, players with a lot more to their game. Gasquet, for example, you have already admitted in this thread he has more to his game than Janowicz, he's made a semi at Wimbledon, never got close to winning a slam. So I don't know why you think an inferior player is nailed on slam winner. He's youngish, and a decent player, but that's it, he really is nothing special.

Because he has done much more than just get to a Grand Slam Semi. His performances in Paris impressed me loads, he was smashing players off court left right and centre, he came out of nowhere and produced that, fans and pundits were gobsmacked.

Course Gasquet has more, because his been on tour for years and years, and is far more experienced. Jerzy could well get better, it's like your shadowing away from the fact, of how far he has come over the past year, his rise up the rankings, is some rise, and his story is fascinating.

He can get better, but I've seen him at him dominant best, and when playing like that he can beat anybody on his day.

Gasquet isn't better just because he older and more experienced, he's just better, and he still hasn't had a sniff of a slam. You keep banging on about ****ing Paris, seriously, it's one good tournament. Yes he's done well to climb the ranking, lots of player have good spells and climb the rankings for a period then fall off.

Right shut up about Janowicz now, I'm watching players with actual talent and ability to actually win slams play.

Great start for Murray. Long points though, could be here for a while!

Bit crazy, this.

7th day of the 7th month. Murray tries to win Wimbledon in his 7th Grand Slam final,  trying to stop Djokovic from winning his 7th Grand Slam title. Last British winner was 77 years ago, as well!
