Records books would state that Stan is at the same level as Murray if he wins which simply isnt true.

Djok to turn this around for the career grand slam.

Really? but that isn't counting masters and atp events, plus the overall record at slams. That is kind of like saying only winning a slam matters Edited by foxes_rule1978

Watching Kevin Anderson play reminds me of boring the Sampras/Goran era was.

Easy to forget how fortunate we have been in the last 10 years or so with regards to the style of play of the big 4 amongst others.

Queens final day - Anderson is already there but Murray and Troicki still have to finish their semifinal before joining him. You'd expect Murray to win both semifinal and final, but it should still be interesting.

 

Also a factoid - Murray hasn't lost in an odd-numbered year at Queens since he first burst onto the scene in 2005 and pushed Thomas Johansson all the way. Does anyone remember that? It's nuts that it's been 10 years since a gangly, unfit teenager started making those ranked a couple of hundred places above him look daft.

They were showing him collapsing with exhaustion whilst playing Johansson during the rain delay yesterday. The transformation in him in amazing over the last ten years.

Not at all surprised to hear he has a heavy American influence in his development.

 

He's just the kind of player Murray picks off with alarming consistency, going all the way back to Andy Roddick.

David Ferrer out of Wimbledon with injury. Was due to meet Nadal in round 4, so that opens it up a bit for him. Means James Ward has a much easier first round match too.

 

I'm still unconvinced that Nadal will make it to round 4 in any case, but yes, this makes things easier for him. 

 

I would actually have fancied Ward to give Ferrer a game in front of a partisan crowd in the first round on quickish grass. He may not have won, but I think it would have been close. Ah well.

 

What are peoples thoughts on the draw? Seems pretty tough for all the leading names - good sprinkling of grass court specialists and big servers all through the draw. 

 

Me? I'm going for a repeat of 2013 - Murrays draw to look very tough but then fall apart in front of him, and then him to take down Djokovic in another grass court final.
