Samilktray Posted 11 October 2008 Share Posted 11 October 2008 So then, the year is slowly drawing to a close so what are your favourite albums of 2008? Theres still a lot of big albums coming for the music im into, so the years not finished for me. Mine would be 'Kano - 140 Grime Street or Nas - Unititled'. Jay Posted 11 October 2008 Share Posted 11 October 2008 been a bit of a weird year for music in my opinion but some albums I have really enjoyed this year are.. Vampire Weekend We Are Scientists Hot Chip The Last Shadow Puppets (really wanted to hate this album but it's very good) Cut Copy John Matthias (brilliant album) late entry from the Thievery corporation and quite a few more nut lots of older albums that I have discovered have stood out more for me this year. probably go for Hot Chip though but we still have a quarter of the year to go

Granno Posted 12 October 2008 Share Posted 12 October 2008 For me the album of the year has been David Gilmour - Live in Gdansk. The release date just days after Richard Wrights sad passing provides a fitting epitaph, because both Richard and Gilmour both play this concert like somehow they knew it would be Richard's last. Daggers Posted 12 October 2008 Share Posted 12 October 2008 Plej - Home Is Where Your Heart Was That was the album I was listening to as the kind lady in the blue Ford Focus introduced me to two weeks of pain. I'm thinking that will now forever taint my view of it. That said, the calming effect it had as I was writhing around in puddles was quiet marked.
