Legend_in_blue Posted 23 November 2008 Share Posted 23 November 2008 It's all about this Friday folks. The touted 60 player online multiplayer, the 8 player co-op and the rather good single player campaign will be here in just 6 days time. The original was well under-rated and was a pretty solid shooter to be fair. I enjoyed it at any rate. This one ups the ante a fair old bit though and should be an absolute blast. IGN summed it up like this: "The single player is epic in scope and in story, which is practically worth the price of admission by itself. Then you throw in the extremely engaging co-op and competitive play, which expands on replayability in just about every way possible. Toss in a generous number of unlockables, trophies and community support, and you've got a phenomenal experience." Who's getting it? Anyone up for some co-op or getting themselves hammered on multiplayer, let me know.

Resistance has been my game of the year this year (Prior to all the releases in November).
Mikey Posted 23 November 2008 Share Posted 23 November 2008 I'll be getting it for Christmas. But, the real shooter is going to be Killzone 2, looks awesome. As does Quantum Theory.

samlcfc Posted 23 November 2008 Share Posted 23 November 2008 The touted 60 player online multiplayer wont this lag unbeliveably bad?
syston_fox Posted 23 November 2008 Share Posted 23 November 2008 Bloody hell - I had no idea this was out this week. I could well be tempted to get hold of that. The first one was second only to Goldeneye in terms of first person shooters for me.
The Reverend Posted 24 November 2008 Share Posted 24 November 2008 Massive multiplayer games do not work - look at Frontlines: Fuel of War. Especially on the PS3's onliine servers, it'll be a lagfest. Granted, Resistance is a faer better game than Frontlines so there should be a whole load of difference, but will it be a CoD killer? Not a fcking chance.
fox123 Posted 24 November 2008 Share Posted 24 November 2008 Just got this on Pre-Order. Also, My Girlfriend brought Tomb Raider today. Looks OK so far.

Legend_in_blue Posted 29 November 2008 Author Share Posted 29 November 2008 This game is as good as COD4, there is no question. The single player is better than COD4. The online is very solid. 60 player maps offer no lag whatsoever. The co-op I tried last night was tough. It's as good, if not better than COD4 overall. Everyone with a PS3, you must buy this game. Legend_in_blue Posted 29 November 2008 Author Share Posted 29 November 2008 That video does not do the game justice! It's an absolute blast. The variety in enemy type is very good. The chameleons particularly so - throwback to Predator there. It's a definate COD4 beater for me. It just gets better and better every time I put it on. Legend_in_blue Posted 1 December 2008 Author Share Posted 1 December 2008 All PS3 owners must buy this game. Just in Chicago right now. It's the best single player experience I've gone through. The online co-op is absolutely brilliant too.
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 December 2008 Author Share Posted 6 December 2008 Just completed the single player. Was a total blast. It's up there with Half-Life 2, Halo, Assassins Creed etc etc for it's annoying ending though! There's no closure to it. So, when's the third one out? Legend_in_blue Posted 27 December 2008 Author Share Posted 27 December 2008 great game, graphics are great, the forest mission early on was bloody scary , didnt know when i was gonna get shot at Chicago is the best level. The graphics are great in places, I'd agree with that, but in some areas they feel unfinished. It's a step forwards from Fall of Man, graphically, but I'd still expect more from a main PS3 title. Killzone 2 for example looks extremely good.
syston_fox Posted 5 March 2009 Share Posted 5 March 2009 Finally got round to playing this and have just done the mission where you have to go aboard the chimera spaceship... it's all good stuff so far although those invisible bad guys scare the bejesus out of me at the best of times! I really enjoyed this game. It's a pity that 'the greatest FPS of all time' Killzone 2 is not as good when it comes to the control setup. Call me a grumpy old man if you like, I don't care, the controls are terrible.

I hated those fuckers when you hear the bounding noise (for the first time) and you don't know what the hell it is, then you get hit once and die...took me 3 deaths to figure what it was and where it was coming from in the swamp.
