GLC Posted 10 February 2009 Share Posted 10 February 2009 Nice. As for Number 12, their best song is Points of AUthority 99 Problems. or Numb/EncoreBut good lot of songs there it was hard to choose, but i went for it because me and a few mates sing it when were pissed

Lillehamring Posted 10 February 2009 Share Posted 10 February 2009 Yeah, I think they were all part of that San Francisco indie pop scene. I don't know Dear Nora as well as The Aislers Set, but I think the former is still going while the latter is disbanded. I think I'll try to find some DN songs this week and compare the two. Amy Linton moved to Brooklyn, NY and occasionally does DJ sets or plays acoustic AS songs around NYC; these events have become less common recently but luckily I got to see Linton play a few songs two years ago. The Aislers Set did a great Peel Session a while back; it's around somewhere online. I also came across CDs a few years ago from Linton's pre-Aislers Set band, Henry's Dress: really loud, lo-fi pop songs. Good stuff. that makes sense, although i'm inclined to think it was portland not SF, but i could be wrong. i think the magic marker label was involved somehow, also? shen Posted 10 February 2009 Share Posted 10 February 2009 2113 is very underated,as is the band. But they've frankly gone downhill since IKSOSE:3 FFTTEOM was a bit hit and miss, and I was deeply disappointed with No World For Tomorrow. IMO they should steer well clear of the poppy songs like Feathers, Blood Red Summer & Once Upon Your Dead Body. Some of their songs can also be quite ordinary, but I did enjoy the tribute to the Floyd with The Final Cut (Which by the way was awesome live!)
