Jordan Posted 14 February 2009 Share Posted 14 February 2009 Because you're checking FoxesTalk on the internets, it's likely that you use a computer. Feel free to use this thread to discuss/brag/sheepishly admit what you're using, whether it's a PC or a Mac, your work station, entertainment system or pornography downloading device. As soon as I'd bought it though the manager where I work tells me he could have got me one off his supplier for £30 and wouldn't have added any extra money on to sell to me

Legend_in_blue Posted 16 February 2009 Share Posted 16 February 2009 I'm getting a new rig this week to replace my virus ridden desktop. Hopefully it'll do the job quite nicely. I made sure I got a top end graphics card in it. One of those 512mb 9 series geforce cards!

Legend_in_blue Posted 17 February 2009 Share Posted 17 February 2009 Worth a punt That is quite a beast right there. Pity I've already ordered a different one! Was in PC World yesterday having a look around. What about this: 6gb ram, 1tb hd, bluray drive and the card you just mentioned? It was just under a grand. Why on earth would you need 6gb of ram? These specs are just getting silly.

Hmm... having heard what you just said it sounds pretty pricey. Unless it has a i7 processor in, I'd probably say it was rather overpriced. You can get 6GB RAM for 70 quid, 1TB HDD for about 70, BluRay for about 75 and Graphics card for 120 That makes £275 to me, so unless you're planning on spending 700 quid on case, motherboard and processor then I'd say you'd be better off building one yourself. But then again, I always say that

The Reverend Posted 18 February 2009 Share Posted 18 February 2009 Speak boy! £340. Only slight downside is the graphics card - although i've tried that 'can you play this game site', tried Crysis, and it works no bother. I'm not interested in PC gaming anyway, especially on a laptop.
