Recommended Posts

I might buy Rome Total War, just cus I want a load of Gladiators to play with.

Are any of these games playable online?

They are playable online  .... the gladiators on RTW were a waste of time tbh :frusty:

Really looking forward to this. I've wanted a Napoleonic era TW since the series started!

Napoleonic you say - well Napoleon Total War has been out for a few days. Anyone managed to get it to run? I never got any sucess from Empire Total War, so I'm concerned at wasting more of my 'cash for gold' income on a game I can't play.

Anyone got it running?

Are you suggesting your contract with Deprotivo is coming up at the end of the season, or do you mean a mobile web contract linked in with a free laptop?

I assumed he meant his non-Depor job. :P

Manuel Pablo is out of contract I think, seeing as they pissed him about till mid May last year I can't see them giving him another year at 34 so he could well be off.

Manwell Pablo could be leaving his Deportivo in mid June because he aint sure if he can be arsed to run it anymore.

Manwell Pablo is also leaving his job 01/04/10 (with a nice little pay off in unused leave though) as his contract with NHS is not being renewed, because despite what Gordon Brown wants you to believe, the NHS is in a financial state*

*allegedly

Hope this clears up all confusion.

No. Not in the slightest.

The battle engine is unmatched. There's nothing like the Total War games for recreating the same of massive scale battles, nothing at all. RTS just don't really cut it.

The Total War series is essentially turn based with real time battles thrown in which basically creates the pinacle of strategy gaming.

It might be a little too realistic / serious for some people but generally they really unrivaled. I don't even consider RTS to be much about "strategy" anymore having played Total War games - RTS is just about quickly building a shitload of men and charging them blindly at the other base. Rubbish.

I have been absolutely addicted since the very first Shogun: Total War release. Love the epic battles. alot of deep thinking needed in some of them... where to place your armies, when to charge, how long to hold back... should i hide in the trees, ect.

Medieval :total War 2 &1 might actually be my least favorite of the releases... although have still really enjoyed playing them..Shogun and Roman i have loved... and just about bursting having to wait to get the money together for Empire...

But will avoid STEAM who are rapidly doing a worse job than any rival could do at creating a bad name for themselves..

Empire is significantly better than Medieval 2 (I thought it was pretty poor tbh). The first TW I played was rome and that was fantastic.

Lots of people seemed to dislike Medieval 2, not sure whether it was because it was too big and unwieldy or not.

I'll always see Shogun as my favourite because it was the game that got me hooked and I spent years and years playing it, absolutely hooked. I reinstalled it the other day and had forgotten how much harder it was than the rest of the series, hah.

Love Med 2, though, especially the Kingdoms expansion pack.

Think that annoyed me about Shogun was taking terriotories with rivers,

There would always be one crossing point, loads of archers marking the bridge, anything crossing gets ****ing slaughtered.

You could turn up with an army of about 1000, the other dude could be sitting there with 20 archers in front of bridge, you'd never get over the sodding bridge, and if you click auto reslove

YOU LOSE

Casualties 765

Enemy Casualties:3

What. The. fuck.

I have found some sucess in running Empire Total War on my girlfriends computer while she's away (i know, what a waste I should be looking at porn). Loving the game, but I wanted to be the Danes and they're a minor country and I haven't been given the option. Anyone know whether there is a way you can unlock these?
