Fosse Boy Posted 7 April 2009 Share Posted 7 April 2009 I prefer the old songs. I hate it when our fans chant the other teams name or chants ridiculous things like 1-0 down who gives a fook - support the team you dicks and get behind them. It's called terrace wit. Apparently you and a few others are severely lacking in appreciation of it.

SamL Posted 7 April 2009 Share Posted 7 April 2009 "iwan is a welshman..." is the best chant. Also fond of "if i had the wings of an Eagle...."I couldn't get tickets this year to Millwall but always facied signing Pink Floyds famous song but changing the words to "all in all you're just a - nother **** from millwall..." - if i had the balls to sing that at Millwall that is :-) why has "i predict a fryatt.." never caught on? that **** was marked out but ryhmed with 'brick' Why not? We didn't sell out.

I can't see why you, amongst others, think that by singing that song we're not getting behind our team. You obviously didn't go to Tranmere away when the song really caught on and we sang for extended periods throughout the match.
Ultra Posted 7 April 2009 Share Posted 7 April 2009 It's not so amusing now that we seem to concede first in EVERY single game.
Tommeh Posted 7 April 2009 Share Posted 7 April 2009 Molly Malone, Leicester score, Keep the Blue flag, flying high and Singing the Blues are my favourites. Miiiilllllll and so quiet at the Den were class also "Ran from the Yeovil" I know got a few sniggers in their end. Best chant I've been part of was either, Preston at the end of 06/07 with Great escape for virtually the whole game and ring of fire at Barnsley last season. Preston and Barnsley are possibly the away days I'm looking forward to most if we get promoted.

Bert Posted 7 April 2009 Share Posted 7 April 2009 The Leftside/Rightside chant is one that has been made especially for special needs supporters. No humour, no originality, no point. Possibly my least favourite chant after the racist/xenophobic bollocks some people seem to love. Barry Hayles being bigger than this (@Cardiff) - that was a class chant (which I started ). And whoever came up with the "It's so quiet, at the Den" deserves inviting to Buck House for a gong by the Queen. I do believe that was Jobber. Singing the Blues is also a top one that I like to hear. Yep. "Steve's gonna get 'ya" "Howards gonna get ya" actually. My favourite is - "You waaalk into the Spion Kop, you hear a mighty roaaar, fook OFF YOU FOREST BASTARDS, we are the Leicester boys."
lou Posted 7 April 2009 Share Posted 7 April 2009 Going slightly off topic... wasnt really a chant but Barnsley last season we were in the Stand before the game.. Rockstar by Nickleback was playing over the PA when the lads being escorted from the station appeared coming down the hill towards the ground seemingly in time to the music.... it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. We all just stood transfixed. Looked like an army going into battle.... guess you had to be there but it was a brilliant sight. Definately something I'll always remember.
