Haydos Posted 22 February 2012 Share Posted 22 February 2012 Such a weird difference, no problem with 6am starts for work before I came to uni. Lectures are so much less appealing. I'm bored and not tired, probs gonna do what Lav's doing.

Do NOT listen to this... http://soundcloud.co...ghtless/s-kttxT Also.. reason not to sleep... .Increased risk of getting breast cancer. Richard Stevens, a cancer researcher at the University of Connecticut, has speculated that there might be a connection between breast cancer and hormone cycles disrupted by late-night light. Melatonin, primarily secreted at night, may trigger a reduction in the body's production of estrogen. But light interferes with melatonin release (since melatonin is secreted in response to a lack of light), allowing estrogen levels to rise. Too much estrogen is known to promote the growth of breast cancers.

Don't worry about that my room is as dark as a cave, the only light that enters it is off the computer screen and through the cracks of the door. lavrentis Posted 7 March 2012 Share Posted 7 March 2012 Just had a mad revise session, not reading books or anything like that, more practising programming. I had written the code out and for an hour I compiled it and ran it but nothing seemed to change. Then I thought I would type "sudo" before the command because I am on linux but on macs what I usually use you don't usually have to do this, low and behold it worked. Such a frustrating hour that was.

Foxhateram Posted 7 March 2012 Share Posted 7 March 2012 Ah it's back. Was up all night, but not on here. Watching south park for the duration. Inspired by the deleted all nighter thread of old that i revisited I thought I would regurgitate this one. Strange looking back and seeing that the old nighter thread of 2007/8 was causing havack with the server, due to its number of posts in quick succession. Now 2012 we have youtube videos, pictures the lark uploaded on here. Amazing how quick tech moves. Anyway enough nerd talk! I am feeling rough today after getting NO sleep last night. Was dissapointed that no one joined me.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 7 March 2012 Share Posted 7 March 2012 I came from the dream-time, from the dusty red soil plains I am the ancient heart, the keeper of the flame. I stood upon the rocky shore, I watched the tall ships come. For forty thousand years I've been the first Australian. We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian I came upon the prison ship, bowed down by iron chains. I cleared the land, endured the lash and waited for the rains. I'm a settler, I'm a farmer's wife on a dry and barren run A convict then a free man, I became Australian. We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian I'm the daughter of a digger who sought the mother lode The girl became a woman on the long and dusty road I'm a child of the depression, I saw the good times come I'm a bushy, I'm a battler, I am Australian We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian I'm a teller of stories, I'm a singer of songs I am Albert Namatjira, I paint the ghostly gums I am Clancy on his horse, I'm Ned Kelly on the run I'm the one who waltzed Matilda, I am Australian We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian There are no words of comfort that can hope to ease the pain Of losing homes and loved ones the memories will remain Within the silent tears you’ll find the strength to carry on You’re not alone, we are with you. We are Australian! We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian There are so many heroes whose stories must be told They fought the raging fires of hell and saved so many souls From the ashes of despair our towns will rise again! We mourn your loss, we will rebuild. We are Australian! We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian I'm the hot wind from the desert, I'm the black soil of the plains I'm the mountains and the valleys, I'm the drought and flooding rains I am the rock, I am the sky, the rivers when they run The spirit of this great land, I am Australian We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Australian I am, you are, we are Australian! We are one ….. We are many ….. We are Australian!
