Listened to Pretty Hate Machine properly for the first time in far too long last night. Absolute stunner of an album.

Love how their sound keeps/kept developing over the course of all the albums, LPs, and line up changes. Trent Reznor is a proper genius.

No arguments here :D

PHM is one of those albums that's just so strong all the way from start to finish, chock full of tracks that still sound great even over 20 years on.

Personal favourite is still probably The Downward Spiral but even stuff later stuff like Ghosts and the bits that are kinda out of left field like the Quake soundtrack are still immensely listenable.

I'll always appreciate The Downward Spiral for what it is, in some ways I do think it's a masterpiece, and Hurt is the best closer to any album ever, but I have to admit I prefer PHM and The Fragile on the whole.

Completely gutted I never saw them live.
