Ozwin Posted 22 January 2010 Share Posted 22 January 2010 So who's pre ordered it then? If not, watch this and think about it a bit more carefully. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/launch-t...ss-effect/61043 Looks amazing, I can't wait. I've not been this excited for a game in years. Ozwin Posted 23 January 2010 Author Share Posted 23 January 2010 The lack of posts disgusts me. I'm staying away from reviews for now, want to find everything out myself and don't want to be noticing things that I wouldn't have if I didn't read the review. I'm weird like that. Legend_in_blue Posted 27 January 2010 Share Posted 27 January 2010 Saving my money for Bioshock 2 and BF:BC2. This does look good but i think its over hyped. Bioshock 2 - completion time of 10 hours. Max. Mass Effect 2 - completion time of 35 hours. Min. As good as Bioshock will be, and it will be good, the time you could spend getting involved in the Mass Effect universe surely justifies a day one purchase. The over-hyped title is going to FFXIII if the early reviews are anything to go by. It's only getting 80s scores.
Ozwin Posted 27 January 2010 Author Share Posted 27 January 2010 35 hours? Are you just guessing? I completed the first one in 18 hours and that was because I was **** at it to start with.

And not just looked at the reviews? I have played Mass effect 1 and Bioshock 1 and Mass effect wasn't that good. Bioshock was awesome compaired to mass effect. I know that this is the new one, but how do they know the Completion time of Bioshock ? It has multiplayer aswell so that adds even more time to it. Reviews are crap these days they get paid to give good reviews.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 January 2010 Share Posted 28 January 2010 Is that Extreme Games by any chance? Yeah. Dodgey was probable a bit of an over statement, they just sell popular games a day or two before their release date. Someone told me they nearly got in some hot water for selling a load of copies of COD day before release.

Reviews are crap these days they get paid to give good reviews. One of the dev interviews. The dev said it will take around 10 hours. Pretty standard for a single player experience, in the main they all weigh in at about 10 hours. If reviews are crap these days then how can you possibly refute a set of 51 of them which give Mass Effect 2 a mean score of 96%? 96% here I guess it's down to opinions. Mass Effect was one of the best story driven games ever made, Bioshock held up pretty well too. But the endings of both games - poles apart. Definately loses points for (again) having some extremely bad and cheesy voice actors.
Ozwin Posted 29 January 2010 Author Share Posted 29 January 2010 This game is awesome, I just spent 2 and a half hours on it and didn't even realise. It's like meeting a mate from 5 years ago, getting to know them again and stuff. I love it.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 January 2010 Share Posted 29 January 2010 Bioware have done it again. You think you've seen the best from them and then they just raise the bar once again. It started with Baldur's Gate, it evolved into Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Mass Effect 2 in comparison to these is about as close to perfection as you can get. This game is superb. Anyone and everyone with a 360 needs to get it. PS3 owners need to buy a 360 and play it. It's brilliant. Can't find a single fault with it. Get it now.
Ozwin Posted 29 January 2010 Author Share Posted 29 January 2010 I'm gonna try and do all the side quests, time to get a bottle of Brandy for this medic woman. Also is it wrong that I'm picking all the flirtatious things to say so I can potentially shag all the women? I'm currently after that PA near the Interactive Map. Legend_in_blue Posted 31 January 2010 Share Posted 31 January 2010 Almost 7 hours in and I've barely touched the surface of this amazing package. This is truly an amazing game and one which is rightly described as being one of the finest RPGs ever made. It's brilliant. It's also good to see "Archangel" back! There's bags of hours in this game. Ozwin Posted 1 February 2010 Author Share Posted 1 February 2010 One thing that bugs me is that there's obvious cover everytime you encounter enemies. There should be random ambushes and stuff to make it a bit harder.

Legend_in_blue Posted 1 February 2010 Share Posted 1 February 2010 Bit Nit Picky, if your finding it easy you've obviosuly not got it on the right setting. Indeed, the 'normal' setting is too easy. The next one up is better, provides more of a challenge. This game deserves a second play through at least and will be played on max difficulty on my 2nd time through. z-layrex Posted 1 February 2010 Share Posted 1 February 2010 Mass Effect 1 was one of the greatest games of all time for me. But I am in my last year at uni with just too much work to get done to a decent standard to let myself get ME2. fooking sucks!!
