Is it something to do with the fact his hand is above the clamp thingy? If not then it's a whoosh from me

Yeah - the clamp thing is a capo, used to help with barre chords - it holds down the strings on the fret where it's placed, and strumming them will play that note rather than the note of the open string. Shaping a chord above it will do nothing because that section of the guitar is effectively dead.

So...I'm typing in on Google to see when Melton Mowbray tip opens on a Sunday and it comes up with the suggested things. Well the second one down in bold is an intriguing thing to come up. Who has been searching that one?!! Haha
