To be honest, I have no idea what a breathaliser looks like and didn't even notice until he said it.

I think if a policeman told me to take a breathaliser like that, I would have done it perfectly sober.

I know the difference between a solid aerial and something you could actually blow down.

I wouldn't think you'd actually need to blow down anything these days though, rather than just blow against an electronic sensor and there's no way I'd know what it and isn't an electronic sensor. Same with thermometers, I have no idea how they work these days when you just put a bit of plastic under your tongue or armpit and it gives you a reading. I'm sure you'll find electronic breathalysers with no holes to blown down exist.

Come on mate, an electronic sensor in that scenario could surely only measure pressure. In order to measure volume percentage it would need a sample. You’re a smart guy, that seems obvious to me.

There's an obsession with how much BBC TV or Radio people consume. It's not just about that.

Credible journalism will also take a massive hit, at home, and internationally. Every week around the world, hundreds of millions of people living under populist or oppressive regimes turn to the BBC for news they can rely on.

You've just got to take a look at the fractured American media scene, which shows us the peril that a society can suffer when partisan and polarised information is—for the large majority of people—all there is. The people who say that the BBC is biased are the same people lapping up toxic drivel from the likes of the S*n, the Mail and their aunt Caroline on Facebook.

“Why should the government fund a publisher to do what the private sector is doing?” Simply, the private sector is failing to do the vital job of providing unbiased factual news and current affairs.

I haven't even seen it mentioned in the conversation, but if anyone's been a student (or had student offspring) in the last 20 years, they'll most likely have used BBC Bitesize. It's an essential free revision resource used by millions every year, curated for our school curriculums. Nah, bin it off, right? Who needs exam results?

The Tories have wanted to destroy the BBC since Thatcher because it could no longer be relied on to "uphold Tory values". In reality, it's because it dared to scrutinise her regime. Successive Murdoch empire-backed Conservative governments have also tried. I wonder why?

I dunno, call me a raging socialist but I think it's a much more important issue than whether you're watching Eastenders or listening to I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.
